Welcome Angie - you are quite right, everything does help and simplifying does not mean having to do without.

Hi everyone! I'm Angie. I've been on SP for a few weeks now but just found this group today. I, like a lot of people probably, am on a budget and every little bit helps. I'm also on a quest to simplify things, both out of want and necessity, with getting rid of that which does not serve. I'm looking forward to getting to know people and exchanging ideas! Have a great day people

Hello All! My name is Amber and I'm 22. I have been obese all of my life and have finally decided to do something about it. So I started my life change in the beginning of January. Up to date I've lost 84 lbs and couldn't be happier. My first goal was to lose 60 pounds and when I reached that so quickly I couldn't help but to press forward. As happy as I am about losing all this weight I have spent a little more than planned. Mainly on clothes that I can't fit anymore. I do go to a Fitness Center and that cost me $50.00 a month, but I actually cut my eating out expense in half so I could afford the center. I honestly don't think I could do this without it! Glad to be a part of this team and can't wait to get some awesome ideas!

I previously joined this team but did not participate and deleted it awhile back when I cleaned out all my teams. Now I'm adding back the ones I really like. I am in a new phase with budgeting and trying to get a handle on what I spend and why I spend and how to do better. I so want to live within my means, whatever that may be at any given time. I find there is a link between compulsion to shop and compulsion to eat!

I have been active on Spark for two months now, but just found this team. How dear to my heart. I have always been frugal (my kids said cheapskate). I still struggle financially, but I pinch every penny and try to make smart choices. Interestingly enough, my DH once was in a band called Simply Living.

Hi Everyone! I am new to this team. I decided to get out of the rat race about 9 years ago and each year I am getting closer and closer to living a simple life that is peaceful and fulfilling. I hope to get some new ideas here!

Good luck with your decision to finish your degree!
My daughter moved to No CA to go to school and doesn't have a car. She uses public transportation all the time and enjoys the freedom.

Hi All- I just joined SP and love it. I have used this site before and liked it and now that I've come back I see so much has changed. The vase number of areas to look for things is overwhelming & a bit cluttered. I am sure I'll feel more comfortable after another week using the site.
My husband and I are avid gardeners and we can or freeze all excess food from the garden for the winter. We live simply so we can live a good life. This doesn't mean a life free of stress or hard work; we still have plenty of both. We have been busy throughout the summer with the garden and as it comes to an end, I find it to be quite bittersweet. I'll miss the activity it brings.
I am looking forward to meeting new people with similar interests.
All the best-

Hello, I'm new to this team and was glad to see that this team existed. I live on a very low income and I just love yard sales,they are so much fun.
My exercise consists of walking a mile 5 to 6 day's a week and when I was injured at work workers comp bought me at $900.00 Airdyn stationary bike so I ride it an hour three times a week and I went to the local YMCA and they gave me a low income grant to join them so I swim three day's a week for 90 minutes they have more class's that I could take but I live a ways out of town and I can't afford the gas to go to the Y more then three times a week.
I look forward to meeting you all.
Your Spark Friend Caroline

Hi. I joined Sparks in July but just found this team today. Still feeling my way around, somewhat overwhelmed with all the information, tools (the food tracker was a real eyeopener) and options. I retired recently, earlier than planned, and I have still not adjusted to the idea of a "fixed income." Interested in discovering some new ideas on "penny-pinching" and I just might have some ideas to share.

New to the team. Have been off and on spark people. Have been off for awhile but did notice when I logged on today that I weigh just what I did when I got off...SO I start again fresh and ready to get rid of that blasted 25 lbs. Hopefully find a way to afford diet food and yummy satisfying meals that won't ruin my diet. So here I am looking for recipe's and ideas to save money at the grocery store. I also work full time in a Dr. office as the medical receptionist so I don't have a lot of time to cook during the week. Have contemplated cooking majorly one day on the weekend and freezing it til after work...

Hi! I'm going to be quitting my job in a week and a half and moving into an on campus apartment at the University of Texas at Dallas, where I will be finishing my bachelors degree. Which means I am about to be suddenly unemployed, and my own volition, no less! I'm a little bit nervous, but I have a couple of options: find a workstudy job, or sell my car and learn to use public transportation (with the very full class shedules and all the work I'm going to have to put in to finish my bachelors in as short a time as possible, I may actually be leaning towards the latter...). So anyway, things are going to be tight, and I'll definitely want to be cutting back on my spending habits ^_^;;
