Never tried any of the alternate low cal recipes for favorite foods cause I don't cook, but I know there's plenty available here. Good luck with all your goals!

Hi fellow Sparkers! I'm Julie, most recently from central Alabama. I'm a New Englander who has been living below the Mason-Dixon for most of my life, although only in the "real" South for the last 23 years. I've come to love this part of the country, fried food, and everything Paula Deen! (much to my undoing)
I'm glad to have found Spark because it looks like it will help me to do what I know I've been needing to do, which is find a way to enjoy the foods I like in a lighter, more moderate way, while also ramping up my activity. Will always be ready to hear any ways to keep active inexpensively during the hot, humid summers! I've set a goal of losing 50 by summer if possible. I'll need all the motivation and persistence I can muster to reach that goal, but I will stick with it!
My 8-year-old daughter is excited about my joining Spark and is a motivator to stay with my program. ("What's the Spark Exercise today, mom?") She's annoyed that there's not a SparkKids.com, but is still psyched about getting her minutes of activity and tracking her healthy eating with me.
