Hello from Costa Rica. This is my first post on this board and I hope to be a frequent visitor. I just turned 54 last week and feel like by body is getting bigger every day. I was down to 175 when I met my husband eight years ago, and I've been slowly gaining weight ever since. I'm up to 191 and I want to start moving the scale in the other direction, for my health more than anything else. But I also want to feel better about myself, and I know that eating right and exercising is a huge part of that.
We moved to Costa Rica from the East Coast U.S. in April 2009 and are living much more simply here. I am using fewer processed foods, and so many of the convenience foods I was used to just aren't available here or are very expensive. I've started baking my own bread, making my own natural peanut butter, and customizing recipes to use local ingredients. We live in a small cabina with our two kitties and are very happy living with less "stuff."
Felice Ano Nuevo to all,
