Hi :) I am a first-time-poster & excited about starting with SP. I have a 2nd ecochallenge coming up in late spring and need to be in better shape this time around!! I also have a twin sister that is in friendly competition with me when trying to lose weight. I also love going to the gym, am a huge fan of the elliptical but feel nervous I won't be able to meet my goals. Keepin' my fingers crossed and willing to put in the work this time!! ;) Wish me luck!

My name is Joanne, I've been a "sometimes" member of SP for a couple of years. I just got back on and it seems a little bit easier to navigate the website than it did before. I need to lose a lot of weight and get myself moving again, and was looking for some support. I didn't want to pay for support, go to yet another meeting, etc., so I'm glad I remembered this site. I enjoy reading everybody's posts about frugal living! It's something I grew up with (I'm from a family of 10), moved away from in my "younger" adult years, but fortunately have found simple living is very peaceful.

Hello everyone! New to the site and just happened upon this team which is right up my alley. I love the idea of voluntary simplicity. My husband and I have a horse farm and have grown lots of our own food the past 3 summers. I'm having trouble uploading a photo (the page just freezes), but hope to get one up soon. I live in upstate New York in the Mohawk Valley region. Just trying to lose some weight and get healthy. Hopefully, I'll figure this site all out soon because it seems loaded with all kinds of useful information!

Hi! My name is Virginia and I am a SAHM of two boys, ages 4 1/2 and 1 1/2. I am trying to homeschool. I want to live simply, however I have trouble making the time to "do it myself" even when I know it will save me money. Eating out is usually my biggest waste of money (and calories), because I don't have good food prepped or thawed for dinner. Any tips on make-ahead meals would be welcome.
Right now, in addition to trying to lose weight and get in shape, I am trying to de-clutter my home. All this stuff is driving me nuts (and it's a pain to clean). Wish me luck! :)

Hi everyone! I'm not new to spark people however I recently had a reason to decide that I needed to get my self moving. I always disliked trying to follow anyone's "plan" for loosing weight. Because when you are a SHAM of 4 there is not extra money to make some crazy food that is just for you. we all eat the same. Now that I am forced to watch my sodium we as a whole house are now eating a low sodium diet. It makes me feel not so alone to have the whole house behind me. I look forward to talking with you all. Hi all, I'm also new. I'm Malin, a Swedish student of architecture. This semester I have a sort of student loan to support myself with while I study. But next semester which will be my last I won't have any money left on that loan since you only get it for 12 semesters and I studied archeology before.
So now I'm doing all I can to tighten my budget right now so I'll have a bit in savings for next semester.

LOVESUNSHINE I am having problems accessing your spark page. I have similar problems with a couple other members. I hope you received a team goodie. I can only partially view your page.
We try to send a goodie to all members with spark pages. Even if your page isn't open to visitors, the team leaders are allowed to send goodies. We cannot view your pages unless you have them open for visitors.

Living simply and staying frugal...that is what I strive for- Taking advantage of the resources that I already have...and not wasting what I have... Half of my life I spent acquiring things- now, the second half of my life, I want to give things away. I don't drive, anymore. That keeps me at home alot more, so that I can do things that matter most to me. I'm happy to be a part of the group.
Hello everyone, I am new to SP. I strive to simplify my life. In doing so, I find I now have more time and flexibility to do things that matter to me. Thanks for creating this team.

Hi, I'm new to the team and I've seen too many people lose their jobs and end up anxious and afraid. I'm getting my house in order, learning how to live on less than I make - y' never know.
My goal is to get real with the cash and to use it for the necessary things 80% of the time( including saving a bit), fun things 10% of the time and helping others 10% of the time.
Happy new year and simple, frugal living to you!

I believe in a lifestyle that includes the principles of simplicity and frugality--a lifestyle in which I not only make the most of what I have--but am truly happy with what I have.
Looking forward to participating in the discussion forums and sharing thoughts and ideas with fellow team members.

I'm struggling financially in addition to my physical/emotional journey. I've been unemployed for 11 months and am completely reliant on my husband and his mom, who has graciously been assisting us. We're dwindling her savings down to nothing, and I can't get a job. When you have so little money that you only have borrowed money, it's a bit surreal to go to the grocery store. I feel simultaneously guilty for spending anything and at the same time there is no "realness" to the dollars I spend. I used to be great at budgeting, but now I don't even really track it, although I rarely buy anything that isn't on sale, and my lack of attention to detail is bad for our whole family. I need help!

HI! Im new to SP and and this team. I realized that getting only part of my act together just isn't going to cut it! So...it is my goal to not only get in great physical shape but dig out of some debt and get in good financial shape! I'm a single parent and LOVE all things: multi-purpose, green, easy, fun, cheap (or better free!), tasty, effective and fabulous! Not too much to ask huh? I look forward to being inspired by your tips, stories, and successes.

Hello all! Frugal is my middle name! (well no it's not, it's Lee, but people complain that if it's not frugal I am not interested so I MAY change the name LOL).
I conserve EVERYTHING from electricity to water to natural resources. I grow as much of my own as I can and I MAKE my own resources rather than buy if at all possible. Diapers? No disposable... cloth.... and homemade from my own old things (they were adorable i might add). Candles, soap, medicinal, tofu, breads, cakes, you name it... I do it myself. Why pay when you can do it on your own? I plan to own my own land, create my own source of power (solar and hydro), grow my own food, and live as far off the grid as this solar system will allow.
I WORSHIP Mother Earth News LOL. Ok no I don't do that either but I do seriously HEART it. Whom I worship is a WHOLE 'nuther ballgame but hey that's not what frugal is about.

Hi everyone! I'm Debra, and I am working on making my life more frugal and simple. I have successfully paid off some loans, but I do have others I'm working on paying off, and we're expecting our first child soon, so I decided to join this team to help give me ideas of other ways I may live more simply and frugally!

Hey teammates :)
I'll be living on my own in a few months (I'm eighteen finally) and after spending my life surrounded with folk who love STUFF, I'm ready to live my own life as simply as possible. You all seem as if you already do that to some degree....that's great! I'll be living in a city and I realllllly need some good, sound tips on living simply.

Hello everybody!!! My name is Meadow, and I live in Northeast part of Mississippi. I live in the middle of 30 acres with my husband, two boys, our dog- Captain Tiki, a male cat named Nosey Rosey, our 7 chickens, and our male pygmy goat-Mr. Compton. I am trying to live more frugle and be more self sustained, although I do love my gadgets, like my NOOKcolor and my Blackberry! I can't wait to get to know everybody better.

Hi everyone! Angelika, your farm sounds amazing :D. I'm new, too; my name is Brittany, and while I'm not new to Spark, I reset my account for the new year and have joined new teams. I live in rural, southern TN, with my DH. I'm a preschool teacher and he's a warehouse worker, so money's always pretty tight. My dream is to be a SAHM someday, so frugality is very, VERY important to us. I also have a weakness for new gadgety toys, though, lol...so maybe ya'll can help me break that habit!

Hi there, my name is Angelika. I live in southern Oregon on a small organic farm. My hubby is a beekeeper. He makes honey with the bees, and I make and sell beeswax candles. That, together with the small income from the produce from the farm is how we make our living.
I can't say I am a real frugalist, because I love my techie gadgets but I am pretty far to the left politically and I really hate the corporate mindset that has permeated this country, so I definitely don't subscribe to a lot of the BS being sold in the mass media and by advertisoers.
One of my goals for 2011 is to surround myself with meaningful teams and new friends, so here I am.
I have been on my weight loss journey since January of 2009, and I have lost over 50 pounds since then. I am pretty much in maintenance mode right now, although I weight train religiously and my goal is to get more ripped and muscular.
I look forward to meeting all of you!
Happy new year!!
Blessings and Be Well, Peace, Love and Light to all beings! Angelika (Hari Shabad)
