Hi Everyone, I'm new to raw, I've read about it for awhile and started to eat mostly raw on 9/14. I've had 2 days when I went out to eat and dinner was not raw and for my regular dinners I have been putting either Tilapia or chicken in my raw food meal, I've had a few days of all raw. I enjoy raw but have to have more ideas for food. There are a lot of recipes but some of them take a long time, or seem to. I do not have a dehydrator yet but that is next on my list. I have no cravings but I'm worried about boredom with the food. So I'm reading all I can and I purchased a book with recipes and made something simple. If anyone has recipes to recommend I'm interested. I'm looking forward to being in this group.

Begin each day with a reason and enthusiasm.

Embrace the unknown.

It's not considered raw if you exceed over 115 degrees I believe. When I dehydrate in the oven I put it on the lowest setting, crack the door and never keep anything in there longer than a hour. I did read somewhere that you can also just use the bulb in your over to dehydrate as well but I've never tried that.

I'm still new to this, but isn't heat dehydrating not raw? Or is it just if you exceed a certain temperature?

I thought about purchasing a dehydrator but found that I can make most of what I like by freezing it or dehydrating it in the oven.

My name is Kareema, I'm semi new to being a raw food vegan, I began incorporating raw foods into my diet at the beginning of this year. I don't fix as much raw as I used to but I still drink green smoothies and attend a raw food potluck on a regular basis.

Hi everyone I have tried doing the raw thing before so am not totally new to it...however my perspective this time is different. I am doing it to feel great and am not worried about the weight which will naturally start to drop if you stay in your calorie zone. Anyway I would love to hear about recipes...I myself and eating lots of salads and fruit...I just bought a dehydrator so I am going to make some crackers and things...has anyone tried this yet?

Hi, my name is Jennifer. I am not a veteran when it comes to raw/organic food, but I'm not entirely a newbie either. I read some material on the benefits of it and was immediately interested and launched into it. I try to have raw organic fruit for breakfast every day. I feel happier and healthier when I eat raw foods (thus far). Plus, I think it's better for my insides. emoticon
