The furminator is overpriced but you're right, there are comparable things out there for much less and work the same.

We found a Safari comb that works quite well on the one cat we have who's fur was all matted. It took two months of combing her in five minute increments but now she is mat-free. We got it at PetSense for under $15.00!

I do, too! I found a great product at WalMart.

It is called the Shed Monster and costs $9.98 plus tax. "Removes shedding fur while carving through mats and tangles." I have a long haired cat and this is the 'answer'.

Look for it and give it a try, I'm so glad I did! emoticon Rusty approves, too.
