I used to be a century cyclist in my teens and 20s and still love swimming. I have an old knee injury that prevents me from running without paying heavily for it the following few days.
I'm up to the point of spinning for an hour 2x/week and have begun riding outside again.
I've started doing laps before water aerobics to get more cardio in and just did a half mile on Wed.
SO... I've decided to train for the 2010 Aquabike portion of the local half-iron that is held every July: www.musselmantri.com
If they had an aquabike sprint, I would consider doing it next month, because I'm sure I could complete it. I'm kind-of chicken, though, and don't want to invest in a short wetsuit that I would just have to replace when I lose the rest of the weight. By July next year I should be much much closer to my goal weight.
So instead I'll just go for the long course on the two sports that I can safely do. :-)
Which is why I'm here, to learn from you all and keep the motivation for the next 12 months...
