Hi there, Totally agree with Deni47. I've been dancing for about 6 years now and there is so very much still to learn. And, your body moves the its supposed to. Your dance will look unique, but it will look better with refinement.
First of all, your moves will not look like anyone else's. I spent the first 6 months of learning trying to look like the 17 year old with big boobs and no butt and the next 6 trying to look like the tallest, most long waisted dancer in the troupe. Bellydance is very individual and you will look like you!
Practice in front of a mirror. Training your muscles to move the way you want will take a bit of time. I always say learning bellydance takes 5 minutes to learn, but a life time to master.
Nothing beats feedback! Are there any instructors in your area? Try out classes - some instructors will let you take the first one free to see if you like it.
Remember - bellydance is supposed to be FUN!

Hi, my name is Wendy. I just finished my very first Shimmy on FitTV and I loved it!!! My only concern is that I look strange and not sure if I'm doing it correctly. Any suggestions would be wonderful!!
