LOL I didn't think you were trying to start a war, I was just making sure my own comments didn't hehe... I am the biggest fan of the books, but I was being honest that I also have fans that love the books, but hated the writing... and its hard to explain... because JK Rowling is considered by alot to have very childish uneducated writing etc, but I adore her way with the word, reminds me of Roald Dahl... And she wasn't trained...
Just something (and don't stab me lol) sloppy about the way SM writes... but despite this, the story she sees, well, that's where her talent is, cause who can resist it ;)

Well the editing is not Stephanie's fault, the publishing companies are the ones that hire editors so what took place as far as any errors or anything else well that is not her fault. If you happened to get the special edition of Twilight on DVD like I did Catherine Hardwicke explained it would have been way too long a movie if they followed the story exactly as it was laid out in the book and some parts of the book cannot translate well to the big screen so when you understand that you'll understand why the movies are the way they are.
I wasn't trying to start a war. I thought the writing was ok, but the story was great.
I totally agree with you Mistiism and I'm sorry to all SM fans but I do not like her much either. Sometimes her writing doesn't make sense to me, but I won't get into that. I love Twilight of course or I wouldn't be here! lol...
But to the original poster my husband is the same way. He loves the war and military stuff, but I have gotten him to try Twilight. He isn't in love with it, but he didn't hate it either :)

Now before I start an all out war... LOL I just want say first up that I ADORED the books, (some parts in the movies could be a bit corny lol), but I love the books, have read them many many times, and will still continue to read them, because the characters are addictive, the concept thrilling, and you just love to love them...
But as a lover of books, I am also the first to admit that Stephanie Myers writing technique is not the best, and as you go down the series, less attention is paid to editing, which could have been fundamental in their improvement...
But despite my dislike her in skill, it's still a great story and an addictive love story... so I have to say I ADORE those books...lol

What I mean by metaphysical books would be things on general spiritual development such as learning meditation and affirmations, working with spirit and energy and working on personal development through spiritual methods, and holistic healing and the types of books I would be referring to would be authors such as Doreen Virtue, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Louise L. Hay, Dr. Deepak Chopra,Debbie Ford, though there are many those are some of my favourites and I consider them to be mentors and teachers more than just authors and yes that is all very much tied in with Wicca though it doesn't have to be. I know of many Pagans who use these types of books and tools for personal development and spiritual growth but it's not always for everyone.
Many people of many faiths read these authors for having their help to grow and change their lives through the use of changing their thinking about how they live and who they are and who they were and how to move through problems into a better life and a more positive mindset.
Wicca is a religious path part of a larger faith path known commonly now as Paganism.
Wiccans are one of many types of Pagans, most of us worship both a God and a Goddess some only worship the Goddess and as many types of Pagans as there are there are as many types of Wiccans. Some of us call ourselves Witches some don't. I call myself an eclectic witch as I study wicca by learning about many things such as styles and types of meditation, working with energy, learning about magick and rituals, and how the cycles of the seasons and the moon relate to representing the Goddess and the God and what other meanings they have as to how we practice ritual and honoring Deity as well as giving homage to the Earth for giving us all we have and thanking Deity (God & Goddess) for all we are, all we have and all we do for ourselves and others and for all the lessons and blessings they bring us.
Some of us are into a lot of the paranormal stuff too not just vampires and such but into ghosts, spirits and more. Wicca is a simple yet complex path with many choices and many ways to study and learn about it, some join covens others, such as myself being the bookworm I am prefer to get my hands on as many books as I can and learn that way. Not that I dislike others on the same path but with some groups (covens) they tend to be restrictive in their views and are strict in their study methods.
I am a free spirit and prefer to go where spirit leads me in terms of my knowldege.
If you would like to honestly know more about wicca it would be hard to explain it in one short message here. Feel free to write me a SparkMail and I could send you some links about it, but to help you understand. You can have a look at this from a site on Religious Tolerance (based in Ontario Canada)

hey Kimberley welcome and happy to h ave you here
What is metaphysical stuff and how do you study that is it tied into the wiccan stuff what is that.
getting back in the game
My name is Kimberley. I live in Vancouver British Columbia(yes THAT Vancouver where Twilight has been filmed, unfortunately work kept me from getting out to the film shootings and going out to see where the cast was while in town)
Actually I have a confession to make... I didn't become a Twilight fan until a former work colleague said she didn't like the books because she thought Stephanie Meyer wasn't that great of a writer and the style she wrote in was ridciulous and immature. I guess that former colleague didn't read it from the perspective I did because I LOVED IT!!!!! I voraiciously read the whole series and while yes sometimes the books moved a bit slow in areas and yes it is about teenage love, I didn't find Edward and Bella's conversations immature at all and I found Bella to be although very much a teenager in the throws of major emotions she is very mature and grows up a lot during the series in a period of a year or so.
I never saw the first two movies in theatres I waited for them to come out on DVD and have watched them several times.
I am 44 and a practicing Wiccan and love paranormal fiction especially paranormal romances like Twilight and other authors too, when I find them. Right now I live in such a small space that I have no more room for any more books but do plan on collecting others of the paranormal romance genre. I like to call myself a "semi Twi-hard" because as much as I love it and would love to have all the stuff and all that I've got a lot going on with my studies in wicca and metaphysical things so there's no room for posters and all that but I did get a calendar of Twilight!!!! and I will keep it!
I have a great boyfriend who although isn't a fan (yet) he does love to read. Am trying to get him to read the series, maybe if I can get him to watch the movies he might. He's into military type books like those by Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy and W.E.B Griffin and also into Robert B. Parker, Lee Child and so forth.
I love to cook and watch movies, listen to music and all that too and feel free to go to my SparkPage to learn a bit more about me.
