I can relate to the added pounds, due to pregnancy. After my second baby, I was very successful losing weight. I did it through exercies alone. Never change my eating habits at all. Then I had my 3rd child. Did not change my eating habits and did not return to exercising. My heaviest was over 170, at 5'3, that's not good.
It was coming here and learning how to be healthy that changed everything. I'm close to a 40 pound loss, in 9 months. Most of it was a pound or two a week and there were many, many weeks of no loss. But, I never gave up, even when the scale didn't move for months. Every day is a fresh start. One or two bad days of missed exercise or crazy eating does not mean my weight loss journey is over.
So hang in there, no matter what! Just do your very best, each day. Fogive yourself for slip ups and vow to do better the next day. You Can Do This!
Welcome FITGIEDRE! Love your honesty and truth about your ups and downs with weight loss. I'm so glad you found SparkPeople. I, myself, found it at the end of March of this year and haven't regretted one day since. It's full of motivation, encouragement and you couldn't ask for more videos, demos and exercises of all kinds .... along with all their explanations and helpful hints. The recipes are to die for, the trackers are a GodSend, and the comaraderie(?) just doesn't end. All you have to do is be inquisitive enough to look further and you'll find something somewhere that will help in some way with your weight loss journey.

As I look in the mirrow I don't like the person looking back at me. I have three kids, 10 year old girl, after whom the weight has been long gone. In the recent years I had two boys one after another. After my (now 22 month old) son was born the weight was comming of slowly, plus I had to have surgery so only about 25 pounds (the baby included) twere lost by the time he was 6 months old, and I found out I was pregnant with my youngest, who's now 6 1/2 months old.
The first 30 pounds came of surprisingly easy - from the day before giving birth, to the 6 week checkup). I have been following the Abs Diet For Women program and I know it works. I used it about 5 years ago and mirraculously went from size 6 to size 0-3 (depending on the brand of clothing). Then following this diet and exercise plan with occasional substitutions of Slim Fast Shake, I lost another 15 pounds in about a month.
This is where the rapid weight loss stopped and could manage loosing 1 to 2 pounds a week and then gaining it back or staying at a number that wouldn't budge. This took away motivation to work out and I was stuck in this about 2 months.
Just recentlly I came about spark people website and can't get enough of it. It's everything I was looking for and so much more - all in one place. I have never written a blog so I hope I didn't write too much.
This is definetly the place where where I can plan, keep track of, and make changes and improvements while becoming my best self.
