I try to exercise on a regular basis. I have a sedentary job and it just helps me feel better. I try to do strength training 3 days a week and cardio everyday. I have to say I prefer the strength training and have to force myself to do cardio. I exercise at home with a total gym and a nordic track. I get up early to do mine. Things are just to hectic at night.

I like the new One Hundred Pushups Team (I think there's one for Squats or Crunches too). It fits in with my own goal.

My schedule that I set up is to do strength (mostly core) training on mon, weds, fri, and cardio on all the other days but I have a hard time finding a time to do all of it while being a student. Usually I do strength in my room and then run, but the only thing I do consistently is play a game of soccer a week because it is already scheduled.

I'm working on it...

I recently joined a team challenge but a lot of the exercises are for "younger" people (I'm 58 and not into lunges and crunches, etc. :-) and I have a problem with my knees so I can do some things but not others. I am wearing my pedometer daily now, and when I take a friend to her doctor appointments they're often long enough I get bored so leave the car and "pace". I've gotten in 15-30 minutes, 1/2 mile or more, the last couple days that way.

I have an elliptical... do i use it consistently - no
does it collect dust-- not really
I have a home gym -- nope do't use that either much... lol
I have a dog-- she makes me walk at least once a day but since I have done taht for 12 years now I don't count it
I work a physical job so I don't really feel a need to do too many strength work outs-- I can unload and stock a whole skid of Javex and laundry soap most days and figure thats pretty good for reps... lol

I wish I were more consistent since I really do asee a difference when I am

I went to Curves until it closed up in my town. Fortunately a couple ladies that worked there decided to open up their own women's fitness center in my town so I joined up. I try to get there 3x a week because I am paying a monthly rate, but when I am really busy I don't seem to get there. It is hard to make myself go but really its not so bad. It is only a half hr. routine plus stretches afterwards, and they also have an elliptical machine that I can use after my circuit is done. This club also has an extra room which they use for other programs such as belly dance and yoga. They will be starting up an arobics class in the fall I believe so I am looking forward to trying that because I think I need something that will make me work harder than i do on the circuit. Next Monday I am finishing up a set of Yoga classes that I took over the summer. That was totally new to me. Sometimes when i am at work I do a lot of running around so I use that as exercise. I used to go walking with a friend but we have both become too busy with our jobs to get together very often for a walk, and I don't own a dog to take me for a walk! either. emoticon

Afraid I'm a serious Exerciser- (real word?) Check the Monthly Challenge Minutes- so far I've maintained top:) for here & 2 other Teams-
I do enjoy & watch Sparks Videos, but find Ch. 261, FitTv on Direct Network for everything at home & usually alone- I also walk dogs daily 5- 10 mi. I've found that consistency IS key to maintaining successful weight loss:)

When I first started my weight-loss/healthy living journey back in May I really intended to start working out with my dumbbells regularly. That just hasn't happened. So now I'm just trying to get in a quick 20 minutes at least 3 times a week, and sometimes even that doesn't happen. So I'm walking when I can and fitting my dumbbells in when I can, and trying to be satisfied with that.

I totally understand. I don't always look forward to it, but when I am done I feel good. I feel this way about getting my walking in. I would rather walk around at one of the many parks around my house, it's just not very practical, I like a change of scenery.

It helped when I would have a workout partner. However the one parttime partner I had, got pregnant and she's overly enjoying her freedom from the gym right now.

Also I agree with Marvilyn Florida can be hot and humid. This does discourage me some when I go to the garage to workout. If I don't get it done early, I have to wait until night time for it to be cool enough to do it.

The other thing that does help me is too write down what I do, so I know if I am improving or wimping out. When I am on a roll, for fun, I like to see how much I can bench, squat, curl or deadlift.

I can't really say I enjoy exercising. But I enjoy the way I feel when I've done it - like a sense of accomplishment.

Right now I am forcing myself to jog/walk 5 times a week. I hate jogging so getting myself out the door is a real struggle. But once I'm doing it, I'm ok with it. When I get back to my house, I feel so proud of myself for doing it and that is the part I enjoy.

NOPE!! I don't exercise regularly, although I know I need to & I should!! It's just that I don't enjoy it...I can't seem to find any exercise that I really enjoy, so I end up doing things just to do them & of course, since I'm not really psyched about what I'm doing, I don't get any real results. I hate gyms...I think they are a total waste of money. I have a stationary bike at home, which I try to get on as much as possible, but that is b o r i n g!! Also, I live in Florida, it's very hot & humid so I can't even walk outdoors!! emoticon

I still have a hard time believing that there are people who actually enjoy exercising!! I wish I knew their secret!!

I do mostly cardio, do some streatching etc because my chiropractor says I need to, but not because I want to. I have equipment at home, but prefer to walk/run/bike outside either with the kids or for a little time to myself.
I do not plan anything, it all comes along when I can squeeze something in. Would LOVE for someone to tell me how to plan stuff ahead.

I excercise regularly, except when sick-it throws me off for a week or two, then I get back on scedule.

I do both weight training and cardio. We have a home gym in the garage with olympic style weights. I will walk or go mountain biking for cardio.

Is there a place where you are getting questions from or an article? I see you first ? then you say skip to 17...where is option 2-16? I am lost a bit.

Yes, I exercise consistently, but I also have a trainer that I work with at home so that helps.

I do not belong to a gym, I have my own free weights and for cardio I jog, bicycle, or do Bosu step-ups.

I didn't see a #17 - did I miss something?

Okay, #1: Do you exercise consistently? If yes, skip to #17. . . literally :-)

Do you do your own exercises or something at a gym or Curves or "class" of some sort?

Do you do mostly cardio, mostly strength, combo, mostly walk-only?

Do you just kind of fake it, don't do anything "consistently" or planned? If so, would you like something a bit more consistent and/or planned or is running around like a chicken with one's head chopped off enough exercise and/or planning for you?

I'm a faker; I'm doing strength training every other day to do ONE real pushup by mid-September and on the other-other days I am getting ready to start timed climbing of my steep townhouse/row house (I'm in Baltimore but was raised near Washington, D.C.; it's heck having to learn two languages growing up) stairs (timed climbing) in preparation to buying a cycle next spring to drive to the grocery store in:

margomcphillips.com/stuff/rhoadescar
.j
pg

I did wear my step counter to the grocery store and walked every aisle once and it was 1/2 a mile, so I sometimes do that for "walking"/exercise. I usually count any unusual shopping or other expedition or chore (changing the sheets on the king-sized bed) as "exercise".
