Alot has happened in this 4 yrs. The first couple of years were slow go for me. Then I had a possible medical issue that turned everything around. I had to have a heart cath. which turned out really good. When I had an EKG, it came out abnormal. Was it a heart attack? Blockages? That's what we had to find out. Turns out that no I didn't and I have great arteries and I plan on keeping it that way. It really opened my eyes. Last summer I went in for a hernia operation which turned into a haematoma which turned into serious infections and kidney failure nd a total of 4 more surgeries. Afterwards I had a long recover, but now I'm back, stronger than ever. I have finally met my goal of 100lbs lost and am now on my 2nd goal which I hope to achieve by the end of the summer. Also, I have more surgery ahead of me that will repair what had to be unrepaired this past summer.

I am still in here and wishing I would have as good of success as I did the first time around. I had lost 50 pounds and then DH got ill and it was a life changing experience. We had to completely change the way we ate and that gave me all kinds of problems as we could not have a lot of the fruits or veggies that we both like since he could no longer have them. That was 3 years ago and since then I have gooten back to tracking both foods and exercise. He now can have a few of the veggies but not very much because of his kidney failure. But he has learned how to not eat them while I am eating them. I still try and not prepare them to often so he is not tempted.

This time around I have lost almost 20 pounds after gaining all the 50 I had lost before back. I try and get in a lot of walking and now have a Wii game that helps not only me but keeps him a bit more active playing some of the games.

I am glad to have Sp because of all the friendships it has brought to me. With DH being at home and not working and me only working PT to care for him SP has been a life line to the outside sometimes.

I am so glad to have SP to fall on and to stay accountable to. If SP was not here I know it would be so much harder to keep motivated! Right now I am on a 5% challenge team and even though I have not made the 5% in weight loss I have lost each challenge. That team really rocks for motivation!

Still here and kicking! Back in focus. Major set backs last year-medical and after 18 years out of the work force had to get a job. Have dropped 33 lbs in 4 months. That's a good thing. This summer will be the challenge... oral surgery, not good. Mouth will be wired shut for a up to 3-4 weeks.. so liquid shakes. Fun!? Trying to find a good liquid shakes that contain no dairy. Yup...in Nov I found out i'm lactose intolerant. My nutritionist is doing some research emoticon
Just taking it one day at a time.....

i'M STILL THE SAME. cOME BY TO KEEP IN TOUCH AND SEE OTHERS Pretty lazy when it comes to tracking. Doing more excerise and stayng a bit more forcused lately. going to check out the challange yoiu mentioned!

What features are you using most?

I have always recorded my exercise. Last week I started using the food tracker again.

What goals have you met?

I am not longer borderline diabetic.

What are you still working on?

Trying to get under 200!

Anything else you'd like to share about your 4 years with SparkPeople.

I have done the 5% Challenges for 2 years. They keep me motivated and I have a lot of support and made some great friends in the Challenges. If you are interested a new one will be starting soon.
