He will be attending a class this week. I'll go with him if I'm allowed. I've been using SparkPeople for awhile, but there's still a lot I don't know how to do. Your comments are encouraging. I feel less isolated now.

Welcome!!!! you have very smart people on this site and one of the things I learned was cut out white foods, bread, pasta, etc. Plus exercising isw important. If your husband have a problem getting around on the internet they have exercises for people who have a hard time walking. Keep coming back you will like it.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me!!!
One of the best things for me when I was diagnosed was the diabetic course taught at my local hospital. It gave information on nutrition, testing the blood sugar, effects of exercise, and many other details. Hopefully your husband's doctor can prescribe a similar course for him and you so you won't be in the dark.
2 Timothy 1: 7
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

My husband received the news that he has Type 2 diabetes yesterday. I know we need to make some changes, but I don't know where to start. I got some books from the library, but I am feeling overwhelmed. I would appreciate suggestions. I don't usually post much, but I know I need support.
