Hi Helen. Good to hear from you again! Do you read the "Support" discussion? There is more of daily happenings related there.

I think I'm going to be a Scrouge this year and Bah-humbug the whole thing EXCEPT for the Nativity.

Hi Terilee! So glad to see your post. I was afraid we might have. . . -well, glad to see that we didn't. I alway love when employers decide that they can save money by working another person to death. I am very impressed that you are doing well with your sugars along with all the extra stress you must be going through.

Keep up the great work, and if we can support you in any way, please, don't hesitate to let us know your prayer needs.
Best wishes,
Pepe'

Terilee, glad to see you are still with us! Sorry that your boss has decided you can do the work of two people....That is no fun! I am so pleased to hear you are still doing OK with diabetes. This time of year is such a temptation to us all. But with the help of the Lord we WILL make it without stubbling too much emoticon Do post whenever you can.

Am back = just haven't been on the computer a lot this month. Have had a lot going on in life. They *downsized* at work and now I am doing the work of two people - what I was doing before and the work of the person they *downsized* all within an 8 hour day. By the time I get home, fix dinner for the hubby clean up and I just plain tired and ready for bed.
Brenda, am really sorry to hear of the loss of your kitty. I have two. Had three but he was 21 and and had lived a good life. Lost him last year. I still miss Tony.. God will help you through it.
I am still doing well with my diabetes. It has been hard with all the goodies at work but will make it through.
I will try and post more.
God Bless you all.

Thanks ladies. The worst thing was that a dog or coyote got her. My great-niece and nephews found her when they were visiting Mom and told me in detail about what she looked like. (They're seven and nine). We didn't want her to go like that. We wanted her to just close her eyes when she was ready to go on.

I'm sorry Brenda. I know what it's like to lose a pet after many years. My dog of 14 years died in Jan almost 2 years ago and I still mourn for that dog. Still haven't gotten a new one, don't know that we ever will.

We just lost my cat and she was almost seventeen years old. I live in a rural area and she was an inside-outside cat. She ran back and forth to my mother's house during the summer (my mom has a garden) and to my house in the colder months. There were a few times she brought back fleas! But I forgave her and gave her a flea bath. She was so funny. Hated to be dipped with a passion and would give me the nastiest looks for the rest of the day! I miss her.

They just kind of look abused, but I guess all cats look that way when they are wet. I don't give mine bath either because the do such a good cleaning job themselves. I used to bath Tucker when he was very tiny, but only because he was too little to know what to do. We got him when he was about 10 days old. I had to bottle feed him and teach him to go potty and everything. I'm shocked he ever learned to us a box.

Dee, a friend sent me an email a while back that had all these cats in it. (I cannot remember the person who sent it to me) The pictures were taken by different people giving their cats baths. Someone compiled the pictures and started an email which ended up getting spread around like wild fire.

When I received the pics I saved them to my hard drive and that is why they are available for me to share them with you. (Sure wish I could adopt more.)

Brenda -I had two cats; I had to put one down in June this year. I've never given them baths. Stormy, named after her personality, was too wild to bathe -that is, if I cherished my skin (she's the one who is gone.) Sassy is a looonnnggg haired part Maine Coone. I've never bathed her because of the length of her fur and I didn't have anyone to help me control her to get her all brushed out. Soooo, she stays away from water and I get to keep my skin. :o)

That's what my cat always looked like when she got a bath, which was not too often for obvious reasons. I wish I had taken pictures now.

Welcome Terrilee. This is a great bunch of Godly women and I'm glad I'm a part of this team. Afterall, they keep open arms for people like me who come and go more often then stay. I just get side-tracted and can't post as often as I'd like to.

Pepe', where do you get the cat pictures? Those poor cats look pitiful. I hope no one is mistreating them, or are you rescuing them?

Hi Terrilee! Good to have you aboard. I'm back from my mil and we stopped for lunch midway at applebees and I didn't do well. I will tomorrow! I'm back to my diet, I promise. The good thing is that I have no leftovers to feel guilty about not eating.

Ok Sadie, here's a new one.

Oh, he doesn't show up real well. This poor guy looks like he's really had a fight, with his owner holden on to him so tight. :o)

If you go to my spark page, go to my images then click on the little guy, you will get a bigger picture. His eyes are as blue as can be! It's worth the effort.

Hi Terilee. It's great to have you visit our little group and I really hope you stay to get to know us better!

Ladies, I really try to not worry too much what I eat the MAIN MEAL of the holiday. We need to watch what we eat before and what we eat after that really counts so we don't drive those sugars too high. If I find that I've over-indulged I try to get active, or under-indulge the rest of the day and the next. And, keep an eye on my sugar levels, because if what I ate was mostly simple carbs or sugars (-pumpkin pie, yummmm, drool-) they can crash fast, then I'd have to counter act the possibility of a hypo event.

God love all of you,
Pepe'

Welcome to the DNA team, Terilee! I hope you will benefit from the support and encouragement this group gives.

I'm not a diabetic yet, but it's in my family (mother) and my husband also has it. So I try to cook low fat and sugar-free, and watch carbs along with him.

You're doing a great job managing yours, Terilee. I look forward to getting to know you through this group.

Hello, well I know I ate way to many carbs today for right after dinner I was so sleepy, needed a hour nap or so. I tried really hard not to cheat but my family has some really good cooks and it was really hard not to chow down on all those goodies...I didn't bring any leftovers home so I would not be tempted tomorrow, I hit the gym first thing in the moring instead of going to all the after Thanksgiving sales!!!!

Hi I'm Terilee55 and belong to other diabetes groups but just spotted this one and CWO50 and thought I'd pop in and say Happy Thanksgiving to you. I learned I had diabetes a year ago this month. My doctor says I have it under control for now and to keep up what I've been doing. Can't figure why it has been good because I haven't been. Or at least, didn't think that I had been. Ate waaaaaaaaaay too many carbs today but still kept the numbers in check. Back to eating the right way tomorrow. No left overs because we went out. I am going to make turkey this weekend so we can have a little *leftovers". My hubby wants some turkey sandwiches for lunches.
Anyway, God bless you all and hope you had a wonderful day.
