This is an awesome group of ladies although only a few post. Hoping to see more members posting as summer comes to an end. If you are looking for support, we are all here for you and in September I will be offering a weight loss challenge for the team to join if they wish.

I have been maintaining my weight for almost 2 years now but at the moment am trying to lose about 6 pounds that I have put on over the summer months. The journey to healthy living is always an ongoing event and together we can all be the best we can be while supporting each other.

Hello! My name is Shari and I live in Foxboro, Ontario (just north of Belleville). I am 53 years old this year and have 2 boys 11 and 12. I know -- what was I thinking when I was 40?? These guys mean the world to me, and I want to be around to see them graduate and get good jobs and great families. I currently weigh 199 lbs and it has been a long haul to get down to that. I would like to lose about 45 more pounds, but I need assistance. I am easily swayed!

I am now 151 pounds and have 12 pounds left to lose. I am still on the Davita diet. I plan my menu 7 days in advance and try to exercise daily.

I am now 155 pounds and have 15 more pounds to lose. I started my diet Feb.1 and lost 36 pounds.I am on the Davita kidney diet and exercise 10 hours per week.

I am new to this club and weigh 153 pounds and have 13 pounds left to lose. I have chronic kidney disease with no liver damage on tests.,Dr. was wrong,stage 2. I am no longer on Spark diet but, on a strict kidney diet with 1300 calories a day. I use another kidney menu for a week at a time with a grocery list they have on a kidney site. I use everything else here. I am trying on the internet to see someone on my nutrition.

Hi Sheila, welcome to our team.

My parents lived in Orillia for many years but moved back here to the Niagara Peninsula as my dads Alzheimer's Disease progressed. I live in Welland.
You live in the land I call Gods country being up north there. So many beautiful sights to see.

AS a kid growing up we had a cottage in Bracebridge on the Muskoka River. My parents sold it when they moved to Orillia. Had lots of great memories there.

Good morning, I'm new, but not new!! Was part of this group a while back, but have been hiding behind big hoodies, nice woolly blankets, & basically letting my knee injury get the better of me. I was very positive at one time, but until I had my knee replacement in June, I was slowly sinking.
BUT - I'm back and no longer have knee pain, and have returned to work, and am slowly getting my life back. Today I have signed up once again in this wonderful group to start my journey back to a FIT lifestyle.

Hi all,

New to this team, but not new to SparkPeople.

Been doing the yo-yo with my weight for the last few years, and now I'm fed up and I'm ready to make a more permanent change to the way I do things.

Got my Spark Activity Tracker on Monday night, and am feeling more motivated that I have been in a long time.

Seeing progress after re-dedicating myself a few weeks ago.

This is my third and final sign up for sparkpeople. I have been here in several identifications and probably posted in this introduction thread long, long time ago. I say this is my final sign up because I am not going to delete my ID ever again as I would miss my sparkfriends too much. That is what brings me back to sparkpeople. The wonderful friends you make here. This time when I joined spark so did my husband although he is very quiet here except for logging in his exercise, but you never know you might see him here.

I am in my late 50's (as some might remember) and when my husband and I retired from our jobs we moved from Ottawa to a small town near where I grew up called Simcoe in Ontario. Now that is not Lake Simcoe for we are near Lake Erie and we are in Norfolk County. We love the small town and the cost of living here compared to the capital. Funny thing was that for over 40 years of driving in Ottawa we never had a car accident. Here for just over a year we were driving along minding our own business when our car was hit by a teen in a van and the car was totaled. We were okay other than some bumps and bruises, we decided at that time not to replace the car yet and we have been walking everywhere around the town to do our shopping which has been pretty great at keeping active even in the winter when we would have stopped our morning walks.

I am not so much focused on losing the pounds as eating well and keeping active and flexiable. I would be very happy to lose a few pounds but that would be the bonus to eating healthy and keeping active.

The first time I was on sparkpeople I stayed for about 2 years and then the second time after over a year away I was here for 3 years. In August it will be a full year for this ID but I plan on sticking around. I am very glad to be back on this team.

Heather, Sparks is a great place to be when you want to get help with your weight problem. I do know that quitting smoking and changing hormones can really do a number on you, can't it? Have you talked with your doctor about the sudden weight gain?

Anyway, if you want to just talk, come join us in the Chit Chat lounge and get to know some of us. There's a great group of ladies who regularly drop by the Lounge to let us know how their day is going.

Finally getting time to introduce myself. I have been using spark people for a week now and finding it very helpful.
I live in Sudbury, Ontario with my husband and one energetic 6 year old lab. I have two grown sons, one lives in Sudbury and the other lives in Chesterfield
Inlet, Nunavut with my daughter in law and 3 year old grandson. I am a veterinary assistant and absolutely love my job, the good and the bad.
I use to be with WW and have used different tracking apps for weight loss. My daughter in law told me about sparks people and so far I find it a really great tool for tracking. I don't have a huge amount to lose but I am under 5 feet tall so I any extra weight that I put on is not good. I love doing zumba and just started going to kangoo which is interesting to say the least.
I also work with a bunch a supportive ladies and we have formed a support group for weight loss.
I am hoping between the girls at work and spark people I will stay on track and lose the weight I need to. Looking forward to being a part of this group of ladies.

Just turned 50 this year - live in Kitchener Ontario with my DH and a teenager - two older daughters one at uni and one at college - and three cats and a dog .. phew busy house. I am an accountant by trade working for an education institution at a very senior level.

Have lost a bunch of weight in the past using Sparks and some WW tips but then something happened with my hormones and changed jobs (=stress) and bam uncontrolled weight gain but not quite back to where I was and a different shape to boot. I HATE exercise and avoid it at all costs which is something I need to fix in my brain.

Looking forward to being part of a group that understands these stressors and which I can feel at home in.

Hello Ladies. My name is Heather although I also go by Heather Dawn. \im not quite 50 will be jan. 13th, but wanted to get with the group I want to see me through the next year as \I try with all my might to get back to goal. Truth is I feel like crying but I'm trying not to get down on myself. In Oct. 2009 I lost 54 lbs to goal here on sparkpeople. and \I did a pretty good job maintaining until this past year. I quit smoking in Jan. and had some female issues, hormones definitely amuck and despite eating right and exercising the weight just kept coming. In the last 3 months \I pretty much just gave up and thought what difference does it make even when I'm eating right walking and swimming the scale just keeps climbing and so I just started eating whatever whenever...well that has to stop because the weight is now coming on me at an absolutely alarming rate. Today I decided I had to stop hiding from the scale and the measuring tape and get real. My lowest weight was 154 pounds I'm now 194 pounds and my measurements are super high, sporting the lovely double chin again. I do not know what to do. I even did a juice cleanse in August...Veggie juice for 10 days and still managed to gain 5 pounds that week.

At this point I don't know if I can lose weight but one thing for sure I have to get real serious about trying to prevent more weight gain. Jan 2 it will be a year since \I stopped smoking I want to feel good about it, but as I look at my body now, I almost wish I never quit.

Anyway that's my sob story...and \i'm not going to tell it again. From here on out..its moving on up with a positive outlook.

I have been using Spark for about 2 1/2 months now, and have lost 15 pounds. I would like to lose 35 more.... Looking for friends and encouragement, and can't wait to get to chat with people in this group.... Keep on sparking

Good morning everyone!
I have been lurking for a day, and decided that I should take a moment and introduce myself. I live up in Alberta, Canada. My journey began (again) on July 7th. However, this time is really different. I'm in the right state of mind and so far the work I am doing is a joy not a chore! I'm feeling so good and would love to connect with other like-minded women.

Hello Ladies, when I was with Spark People before, I belonged to this team. Such a wonderful group of ladies.
I hope you don't mind me returning.
I will be turning 62 years young on the fist day of August but still feel like I am 25 (with more Wisdom)
Glad to be back at Spark People and happy to see all the lovely faces and new ones since I've been gone.
My last nickname was ONMYWEIGH but the new one reflects who I am now and who I intend to be forever...........I might have to change the number from 62 a few times but the name stays.

Welcome to a great team of fabulous ladies. I went overseas last fall and it is just beautiful there. I know you'll have a great time. I plan on going back in a couple of years and I'd sure like to be able to go at a smaller size, too.

If you'd like to get to know us better, drop by the Chit Chat lounge for a chat, or join one of the challenges we have going on right now. There's the "Hunger Games" where you give $1 to a charity of your choice for every pound you lose but $5 for every pound you gain, or there's the "Change a Habit a Month" challenge where you try to change only one habit every month. They are both popular challenges.

Anyway, glad to see you aboard.

Hi everyone,
My name is Vicki and I will be 52 in a couple of months. I'm originally from Ontario but have called New Brunswick home for the past 20 years.

I used to be underweight until I hit 30, then the weight slowly started piling on. By the time I turned 40, I was overweight. I managed to lose the weight and got to a nice weight that I was able to keep off for 3 years. Then it started piling back on again.

Well, now I'm over 50 and planning to go to Norway next year to visit a friend. I imagine we will be doing some hiking there and at the moment I am in no condition to be doing that.

I want to be in better physical condition and weigh about 50 pounds less than I am now before I go there 14 months from now.

Looking forward to getting to know you all. I appreciate any encouragement and support I can get. It's what keeps me moving forward toward my goals.

Hello everyone, I am 52 and live in the Hamilton, Ontario area. I have been trying to lose weight most of my life lol and I think I am finally getting it right. I have lost 35 lbs so far but I still have 45 to go. I sort of fell of the track for a few months but I am back on again. I know I need to make time for me to exercise properly and regularly. I need to drink more water and go back to measuring my food so that I don't use portions that are too large. Now saying I know these things doesn't mean I always do them but I am trying harder now than I ever have. I want to be around for many years to keep loving my husband, 4 children and 6 grandchildren. I think joining Spark will really help me going forward.
