I've done 2 5Ks my first in August - had 2 small hills and I actually finished faster that than I had hoped. Yes, I walk and run and the last mile I walked more than I ran but I did it, I finished (altnough between miles 1 and 2 I wanted to quit cuz the little demons were telling me I couldn't do it). I ran for ME. I did my second last week. I knew it would be a faster one cuz it was flat and since it was in a cemtery there was no traffic etc you get on a road race. I did my ususal run/walk and I may have come in 92 out of 93 but I FINISHED ALMOST 4 MIN FASTER THAN MY FIRST!! That meant more to me than anything else.
So I guess what I'm saying is it's your race...run/walk it your way...no matter what time it's your time...be proud of it..it's yours!!
I hope this makes sense...GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY YOURSELF!!!
"You don't have to eat a perfect diet to be healthy. You will not suddenly get a nutrient deficiency or gain weight from one snack, one meal, or one day of eating. It's what you eat consistently over time that matter. Progress, not perfection, is what counts." Principle 10 of Intutive Eating -
