I highly recommend the c25K programs. I have been amazed at how much I can run already.

Love full length compression socks, best things EVER.

And do stay with the program that tells you how much to run and what days. I ran 12 races last year and could not complety run 1 of them but I did not do a training program for them.

This year, I am doing a half marathon in 2 weeks and have been following a well laid out program and now I am able to run miles without stopping. When I am done with this and after some well deserved running rest time, I will start to follow a 5K training program. I know I can run a full 5K now, but need to work on that time.

Great job on starting and doing a program. It will help.

Make it a great day.

Nicole

Hi and welcome to the team. Sounds like you have made some good choices to try to help you with your running. Just remember to go slow and build up speed later to avoid injuries. Let your muscles build up the endurance needed first. You can do this!

Good job! Avoid trying to push too hard too soon, and trying to run faster than you've conditioned yourself for too quickly. It takes time to train, and train to be injury-free.

Thank you! I started trying to run a few months ago, but very quickly ran in to terrible shin splints. It really took the wind out of my sails. I got fitted for good running shoes ($130.00! I BETTER be committed now!) and have compression sleeves for my calves and shins, and stretch, and ice, and as of yesterday am cleared to start running again!
Walking is a wonderful way to start!

WTG!!! I hope to start the program the middle of May. Gotta heal from some surgery first, then hoping to complete it! I've always tried it before and given up, but this time I'm walking first and making sure I'm ready to start!

Keep up the good work!

I have always looked at runners, and wished I could do it, but was certain I could not. Recently i realized, there was no reason in the world that I can't! In March I "ran" a 5k and finished in 41 minutes. I am starting a running regimen. I run around the track once, and then I try the c25k program. Yesterday was day 1! I really want to be able to run the entire 5k next time. here's hoping I can!
