Feb. 2011 Runners World has an article with top underwear recommendations. Personally- I prefer biking shorts (minus the padding), but jogging tights in the winter work equally well. You can always wear a longer shirt, fleece if you don't want to feel as if your backside exposed.

I was reading an article on what to wear when running, and they mentioned sweat wicking underwear -I imagine similar to a technical shirt that wicks sweat. I was going to check out a sporting goods store for them.

I use spanx, but more for chafing issues on long runs than for appearances. (They don't hurt, though!)

To dakotacat: LOL, I hope no ones watching. It's those darn mirrors at the gym that get me.. I just noticed it in yoga.. When I am running I don't care either except cotton undies get really sweaty and uncomfortable.. But thanx for the replies.. emoticon

I don't wear anything special either.

The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.

i'm not being smart, but who's watching your backside? if you're running, probably no one, and if you're at a gym, most people are probably not paying any attention. i'd say wear what's comfortable and don't stress. ;-)

Ok, I'm just going to ask.. What kind of underwear do u wear under your workout clothes.? Regular underwear makes panty lines. No thongs.. I need something to hold my backside stable.. I really don't won't to spend 20$ or more for compression underwear unless I know it's worth it.. I have compression shorts, champion, but they are too thick to wear under my pants. Plus the waist band is too high and pinches.. Any thoughts?
