Hi, welcome. I'm pretty new too. I recently started running, and find that I love it! I am up to running for 16min. out of my 40 min. treadmill workout. When I started I couldn't evedn run for a whole min. Good luck with your goals!

Welcome Kathi! I totally know what you mean about not being able to believe that you run--as a former "I'll never be a runner" turned running addict, I still can't believe it sometimes :-) Welcome!

My name is Kathi and I've been running for about 6 months. I am registered for my first 5K on 5/01 and I have a 10K scheduled for 6/12. The 10K is actually a celebration of one year with SparkPeople and that goal is simply participation (even if half of it is walking) to honor the great things I've accomplished this year!

I was laying in bed this morning deciding where I was going to run today and it occurred to me that I'm not on any running teams. As I looked at this team, I picked up a couple of good tips already and knew that this was the right team for me!

I'm always amazed that I run. My last two blogs are about getting ready for the 10K and the desire to run that is stronger than any temptation to stay home. It's a great life!!
