From what I can tell; you just got here! I'd like to invite you to visit my gallery as I just posted 3 pictures there from 11 years ago, actually one of the 3 was 9 years ago, holding a new grandchild in each. At that time, 2001, I was 60. I have to tell you; I am younger, fitter and healthier today than I was then! You can do this! My motivation was health; not weight. Learning to make healthy choices and become more active. I didn't even weigh myself until I noticed that my weight was coming down. I didn't know about Sparkpeople then. This site is wonderful, it has tools to help you make healthy choices and to track your choices, share with others, and set goals to work towards. You have to decide what you want; then make a plan to get there. We're here for support along the way. Go to the bar at the top of this page and pull down MY TRACKERS, click on START and get started. I'm having a great time with those grandchildren; I don't think that would be possible if I hadn't turned my life around. Be well, and get started!

I am turning 60 August of 2012. I am desperately seeking advice and help to motivate me to get this huge amount of weight off that is dragging my entire life down. I like to be active and constantly busy. The heat in Kansas has really put a damper on my active life. It seems like I do nothing but think of food all day. I have such horrible cravings that I cannot control them. I have thought about a lap bank surgery but really do not want to do that or pay that kind of money. I would love to hear from members who are in or have been in the same situation. No energy, no motivation, constant food cravings and very tight clothes. HELP
