Admittedly, having the Lap-Band and using it correctly is the primary thing that keeps me full. That said, "using it correctly", means focusing on proteins first, followed by healthy carbs and fiber. Those are the key - eat those (with or without a surgically-implanted device :-) and it should help with fullness and satiety.

Drinking a lot of liquids between meals also helps. Many people, especially if they are, or were, overweight - lose the ability to really discern hunger from thirst. And too many people unfortunately grab for some calorie-laden food, when all they really needed was a glass (or 2 or 3) of water.

"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!"

"Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels."

My key to success: Follow *most* of the guidelines, *most* of the time.

Well Jackie and Maryann, make that 3. I eat 5 or 6 times a day and make sure each contains a protein and a carb (with lots of fiber). I tend to come out too low on the fat and am working on that.

Think highly of yourself because the world takes you at your estimate.

Water and fiberous foods keep me full. Although, it's more of a struggle in the Winter time. SMILE

Eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day

Fueling properly after working out

Getting enough fiber, protein and fat...I'm usually okay on protein and fiber but I tend to be low on fat

Working out is an appetite suppressant for me so working out actually does not keep me full longer but keeps be from getting hungry (if that makes sense)

Jackie!!!

Like Deb, I eat often throughout the day. I have also found that almonds do give a suprisingly full feeling for a small amount.

fiber and protein, I think since I've been paying more attention to adding both to most meals, they stick to my ribs better.
