Hello! My name is Becca. I am a 25 year old mother and wife in Southern Oregon. I'm a graphic designer for a bead and gemstone company, which is quite the sedentary job. I have not been in maintenance mode long, but I am already having some difficulties adjusting. I'm vegan and eating a whole foods diet, and I have found that I cannot seem to meet my new calorie range without forcing myself to overeat. By the time the afternoon rolls around, I have no appetite. Even after workouts in the evening, I cannot seem to get very hungry. If anyone could offer some advice, that would be wonderful! I certainly want to get good at maintaining me weight and not have it drop much more. Other than that, I'm excited to be able to focus on maintaining and not losing!

There is only one of you in the world, so take care of yourself in all matters.

hi!

My name is Adanma and I have been maintaining for almost two years. I have gained ten pounds. I am just trying to increase my overall fitness and maintain my weight so I don't gain anymore. Maybe I can even lose the last 10 that I have gained! I'm just trying to find the balance between being in college and eating as clean as I can

Walking a 1/2 marathon is TOTALLY something I could do!I love that idea! (last year I was regularly walking 10-12k just because I had time and someone at the other end to visit!)

I'm going to steal that link you left and check it out, but a lot of the couch-to-5k plans tend to be very frustrating to me. I'm semi-asthmatic (formerly asthmatic whenever I try to run), so a lot of them jump up too fast, leaving me literally gasping for air and frustrated as all get out! I want to be able to follow those plans, but pushing my airways is generally courting disaster emoticon

ELLIMINTY, if you go to www.c25k.com, they have a great couch to 5k plan, which is how I started out with running. Also, there's nothing wrong with walking the whole thing or doing run/walk intervals. I got some great tips from the Jeff Galloway SparkTeam. I actually run faster if I take regular short walk breaks. If you find out that running is not your thing, I walked a half-marathon last year. It was a lot of fun if you don't mind sore feet. I burned a ton of calories just from the sheer amount of time I spent training. Plus, I actually got to pay attention to the scenery in that race (though it was pouring rain).

Welcome ladies!

I've been maintaining since November, and they key is balance! I hope you didn't just stop exercising because you were done! If you did, find something you love to do to stay active: I find that no matter what happens (my parents visited this weekend and I ate a TON of food), if you stay regularly active and monitor your weight every couple of weeks, it all balances out :)

Congrats on joining us!

(also: Excaliburgirl, I'm super-jealous! I've never run a 5K and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to!)

Hi All!

I am now under my goal weight of 138 lbs, down from 190 lbs last January. I used Spark People and Jenny Craig. Now that I'm maintaining, I'm just going to use SP. I like using the food tracker, though I'm not sure yet how strict I will be. Mostly, I'm trying to eat healthier overall and minimize dining out. Right now I'm running 3 days a week but I want to bump it up to consistently exercising 6 days a week.

Hello.
My name is Leah and I've lost 22 pounds here on SP.I feels great! I am a little nervous about switching to maintenance mode. But I have to keep reminding myself that I didn't lose the weight overnight and I will not gain overnight either. I think that I have made enough changes to my lifestyle to be able to keep the weight off.

I ran my first ever 5k today which felt great! I need to stay positive!

Hey there,
I just hit my goal weight yesterday (after being stuck on the last few pounds for several weeks). I have lost 81 pounds this year and am very excited about starting the next stage of my life. I have been training for a marathon for several weeks now. Its in April and will be my first one ever.
