Oh man you guys...I'm so sorry! I was supposed to be a team leader this week but something funky happened to my Spark People, including unsubscribing me from this team, which meant I didn't get notifications of message posts. I wasn't getting notifications on ANY of my teams
But I'm here now.
A little about me: Between 2000-2003, I lost 100 lbs. The last 40 was thru the Atkins Diet. I started cheating and guess what happened? Yup, the same thing that happens when you go off any diet plan...I gained. In Dec 2006, I had regained 50 of those hard-fought pounds lost
Since then I've lost at least 36 lbs. I don't weigh frequently. Its a long story but the scale IS NOT MY FRIEND.
I'm back on low carb (so I don't follow Spark People's plan but they let me stay anyway) and I'm healthier and happier than I've been in years. I'm also not obsessed with food & dieting (which is what the scale tends to do to me).
I hear all the time from people about what they "can't" do. Give up chocolate or whatever it is. Well, I'm here to tell ya, its about what you will or won't do, not what you can or can't do. Today I choose health and wellness. My food plan and my diet plan are both a part of that health and wellness.
My fasting glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol and cholesterol ratios are all within normal ranges. My weight is still higher than I want it to be but its steadily going down. My resting heart rate is also still higher than I want it to be. But I've found a way to eat that I don't have to be hungry all the time!
It's a great life
