Ok but I do get outside...not as much lately though. I'm afraid to be out by myself since my foot is still healing. Thanks for the come back though. emoticon I really appreciate it.

You might want to do some reading about Vitamin D3. It is supposed to have mood elevating effects, just like sunlight does.

ROTFL!!! I love the turkey in a bikini...Hoping it's not a thong bottom...

I just started with stage 2. Still have a long way to go. Also I just had an operation so that usually puts me into a funk for a good while. Just wondering if I should go to one of the depression boards or if that would just make me crazier. Any comments? emoticon I'm not usually like this and sometimes it takes months to shake the feeling. I hate dealing with depressed people and I don't want others to have to.

I'm halfway to my first mini-goal. My full goal is to lose 200 pounds. I'm just doing it 50 pounds at a time.

Thanks for the kudos!!

Oh man you guys...I'm so sorry! I was supposed to be a team leader this week but something funky happened to my Spark People, including unsubscribing me from this team, which meant I didn't get notifications of message posts. I wasn't getting notifications on ANY of my teams emoticon

But I'm here now.

A little about me: Between 2000-2003, I lost 100 lbs. The last 40 was thru the Atkins Diet. I started cheating and guess what happened? Yup, the same thing that happens when you go off any diet plan...I gained. In Dec 2006, I had regained 50 of those hard-fought pounds lost

Since then I've lost at least 36 lbs. I don't weigh frequently. Its a long story but the scale IS NOT MY FRIEND.

I'm back on low carb (so I don't follow Spark People's plan but they let me stay anyway) and I'm healthier and happier than I've been in years. I'm also not obsessed with food & dieting (which is what the scale tends to do to me).

I hear all the time from people about what they "can't" do. Give up chocolate or whatever it is. Well, I'm here to tell ya, its about what you will or won't do, not what you can or can't do. Today I choose health and wellness. My food plan and my diet plan are both a part of that health and wellness.

My fasting glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol and cholesterol ratios are all within normal ranges. My weight is still higher than I want it to be but its steadily going down. My resting heart rate is also still higher than I want it to be. But I've found a way to eat that I don't have to be hungry all the time!

It's a great life

Lisa

Hey Laura!

I just want to say thanks for your words of encouragement during these first few days. I've always had a hard time staying with SparkPeople, but it will be difficult to quit this time around with you keeping tabs on us! :)

Hi everyone and welcome to SP!!

My name is Laura and I am one of your team leaders. I live in Iowa and as you can tell from my weight ticker, I have a lot of weight to lose. I have been on diets my whole life it seems and SP is the first one where I have made progress. I have been a member of SP for over 7 months now. I am a type 2 diabetic and also have PCOS. I am losing weight to become a healthier person and to start living my life instead of watching everyone else enjoy theirs.

In addition to leading this team, I am also the team leader for the 100+ First Steps Club. This was a team that I started after my first week on SP. We are an active group of individuals who all need to lose 100+ pounds. This team has become family to me and has truely been a lifeline to see me through tough times. For this reason, my best advice to new members is to seek out a team or teams where you find members with similar goals and interests as you have. By far, it will be the support of the teams that will help you stick with SP through your weight loss journey.

Congratulations for making the decision to join SP and please let me know if I can be of any assistance.
