Thanks Everyone for the warm welcome! A little about me.............
I started running about 4 years ago right before I turned 50- I had a lot of stress in my life and wanted to figure out a way to channel it. I started with a local Couch to 5k program, as I decided I probably needed the accountability. I finished that program and immediately decided to do a half marathon, which is where I really fell in love with running.
After a few years of running the roads (and about 15 half marathons), I was ready for a change, so last May I started trail running and found this to be my true love. These days I just focus on the sheer joy of running, of being thankful that I can go out and run, as I know there are people who cannot.
I do want to get faster so I am working with a running coach, which has definitely helped. I also plan on several races this year (have done 2 so far and have a 3rd in May), but racing is not my focus. I mentor in that same Couch to 5k program that I got started in, as I just enjoy running and hope that others will get hooked on it as well!
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's posts and cheering you all on, no matter what your goals are.
