Thanks for the welcome. I have only been "running" for a couple years. It started with the Austin Marathon. A friend was going to walk it since he had an injury that made running difficult. I figured I could keep up with him so I signed up too. This was about 5 weeks before the marathon. I did some atypical training and completed the marathon. I wasn't last when I crossed the finish line but at one point we were the last ones! I've run a couple half marathons since and have a couple more coming up. I run and walk. I can't go far running and I'm not fast but I don't do it for speed. Just the satisfaction on finishing! I play tennis regularly too. I've been hiking a lot over the holiday break but will start running a little more so I can be ready for my next half on January 25th.
