Greetings from Sarnia, Ontario, Canada! My name is Lynn and I am trying to eat healthier. I love to cook, bake and try new recipes. My healthy eating goals include: eating less meat, eating less processed foods, eating more whole grains, and eating a well-balanced diet. I'm not a picky eater, and I love spicy foods. One food I try to avoid is soybeans and TVP products (it's controversial, and a diet of homemade dog food without it does wonders for my Westie).

Hi, I'm Phyllis. I love to cook and am learning to use more whole grains and vegetables and less butter. It looks like this team isn't very active and that's okay, but I hope some of you are out there. I am joining because occasionally I have a specific need for recipes. Currently the problem is that I have a colonoscopy scheduled and need 3 days of "low residue foods". In the past, that just meant mac-and-cheese and no veggies. Well, I'm trying to do better than that. Any suggestions?

I am re-introducing myself since I have been gone for awhile battling cancer. So far I have won the battle and am anxious to get back to good health and good eating. I started my journey with SP in 2006 but was lazy and stayed at the same weight for years until I gained more. Now I am 60lbs lighter and need to lose 60 more. I am ready to use SP and my friends to help me with this journey.

My name is Sophie and I'm a fooodie. Joining Sparkpeople last month has given me a reason to re-visit old recipes to see how they measure-up when reduced to calories, carbs, fats and proteins.
I almost never eat "meat with feet" and, so far, the hardest part of meal planning has been getting enough protein.
Today I roasted eggplant, tomatoes, a red bell pepper and some garlic. Everything is better with garlic, n'est pas.

Hi - my name is Tam. I love to cook and eat - so guess why I'm here? ;) I have to be at work very early (5 a.m.) and hate the idea of messing with much to get a good healthy breakfast. Hi, I am Neeter, married, no kids (except for three kitty kids), and soon retired (end of June). I love to cook from scratch and use very little processed foods. I love finding recipes that are quick and delicious - and they are out there without having to use a lot of processed foods!
I have found only one activity that sidesteps my thoughts of food - sewing. I will starve if I am deep in a project and don't want to stop to eat. Now if I could sew 24/7 I would not have this problem - 80 pounds to lose!
I look forward to this journey and trading and sharing recipes.

Hi everyone my name is Kara and I am new to this team and rather new to the whole cooking scene. I really never liked or knew how to cook. I joined Spark wanting to be healthy and happy and saw that the only way I was going to do this would be to give up junk food and fast food and eat homemade food. Hi Everyone, My name is Judy and I love to cook and collect cookbooks and love to eat. I eat out often which is a challenge to keep it light and healthy. I need to lose about 100lbs. I have bad knees and back and hope to lose the weight so I can return to work as a nurse. I am however 62 years young. Hugs, Judy

Welcome to the team. I think writing a cookbook is a great idea. I am in the process of writing cookbook number 4. My other 3 are about to become published. I am so excited. it is a long hard process. Most of the recipes I have posted to this site are ones I have worked with for my books.

Hi Everyone, My name is Donna and I've been married for 33 years to my HS sweetheart, We have two college age kids that are just starting to work but live at home. I've been on sparks since March of 08 and love it here. I have not lost much but everyone is so nice I just get back on the horse and keep on trying. I just found this group and just maybe this will be the key to jump starting me into a losing phase. I love to cook and want to make a lot of my recipes healthy and delicious. Most of the recipes posted by me come from one of the cookbooks I am in the process of writing. Hope you enjoy them. Hello everyone my name is Karla and I am 47, married with no kids at home and only one dog, Merlin. Not only do I love to cook but I want to cook healthier and with more natural stuff. Since Merlin gets left overs he wants me to cook this way to....ha
My problem is that my hubby (from the UK) does not like beef so I need to spice up my chicken, pork, buffalo and turkey.
I think this will be a wonderful place to do it.
PS I grew my garden this year in kiddy pools since my landlord would not let me dig up the yard and it was wonderful and I had tons of great veggies. You might give it a try and if you have any questions just buzz me.

Hello all. I live in Michigan and I cannot stand on my feet for long periods of time so I need recipes that are quick and easy but healthy and whole. I try to stay away from processed foods and prefer things as they come straight from the garden. I wish I had a garden.

Hello all! I've been with SP for 2 months and have lost 25 pounds. I love to cook and to find new recipes to keep things interesting for my family of 4. I saw some interesting things on this team, so thought I'd hop on board. One thing I noticed is that it makes things MUCH easier when people add links to the recipes they've posted. Just right click and copy it from the SP recipe page, then click "Add a Link" above your message box. It makes everything much quicker. I hope to be sharing SOON!

I joined spark a couple of weeks ago. I always like getting new recipe ideas to keep my diet interesting. Last night I made the meatloaf surprise that is on my sparkpage. It was really good, I used ground turkey and beef, instead of just beef that was the only change that I made. It was delicious. I like having the calories and nutrient info on the recipe so that I can track it easier.
A day without laughter is wasted.
