I think The Spark is an excellent book and have read it. I'm sorry about the weight you've gained back but I know from personal experience how hard it is to stick to something very restrictive. I turned 59 in February, and had a stroke before that on Oct 31, a little over 7 months ago. It was a long road back but I'm active and doing things again. I hike some, even if my balance is off. Hiking poles help me with that. I refused to give up. My right hand shakes some and balance is an issue and a little problem with my speech but not much. I tell you this not for fear or sympathy but just to let you know it's a real threat. I was active before, and the med personnel said that's what helped me recover when I was really close to death. I had a brain bleed with it. But the point is, that in the good times and the rough times, whether it's a "diet" (I don't like that word. I like way of eating better because then it can be for our life) or something else keep working on it and keep going. In my case I had a super lot of stress, which has been reduced significantly now. Of course nobody lives without stress ha ha. Anyway you can do this! You've come to a great place for supportl

Hi Paul This site is very motivational and very helpful.I started using it to help my husband after his accident. After he passed, I continued using the site for myself. Grief counseling in a way as well as tracking my nutrient intake and trying to get healthier.
I record everything every day, which is a big help to see what I am doing over a period of time. I don't do a lot of chat stuff or email, but I do check them out every few weeks.

My name is Paul and I just turned 51 last week. I lost 45 lbs on a restrictive diet but have now put back on 10. Need to keep losing but not with that same diet. Just started reading "The Spark" and have the cookbook. This site looks like a good motivation tool
