So thrilled for you! After losing over 30 pounds, I HAD to stop taking my bp medicine after almost passing out one morning! Been tracking it since, and it's definitely in the normal range again! So happy that diet and exercise are paying off in this way.
You can do it for the sake of your health DEFINITELY!!! I am 70 years young now and off Diabetes medication and High Blood pressure medication.
I am using cholesterol medication to get my triglycerides down. Family history of Cardiac problems.
I was diagnosed Type 2 diabetes at 66 years young and I found the spark BOOK looking for answers at Barnes and Noble. I am down over 50 pounds, I walk fast with others without huffing and puffing and I can walk easily 5 miles at a time with friends. We do it often 2 or three times a week, it is easier with a buddy for me, it makes it go faster and much more pleasant . We walk in the winter in Maine we chose to walk year round, that is the only way to stay determined. FINDING THAT BOOK was a victory for me I had tried all kinds of diets to help me to get off meds and boy I am grateful to the Spark BOOK by CHRIS DOWNIE, Spark People and my Spark friends. I re-entered in late March and it has taken me this long to check on the parts of my health. I came back because my diabetes is out of control and my cholesterol numbers are terrible. To deal with those I need to deal with the whole body and high blood pressure was my first offense. Being overweight would be the second one. One of the reasons I am reintroducing myself is that you have a goal for 10 minutes of excercise a day. That is my present goal, I have become so inactive due physical limitations - that is what I can do, but I was limiting myself so much more. It took the whole month of April to get up to that. My husband and I have been eating healthy for over five years, but there is so much to learn. I stopped using a salt shaker 42 years ago (during a high risk pregnancy) and we quit smoking 20 years ago. Now I am striving for a healthy lifestyle.
