I have been semi-retired now for almost 5 years. It has been wonderful, as I have more time off. I truly understand the LIST thing, because it is so easy to just enjoy doing NOTHING!
I do get to hike more than I did, which I love. But completely retiring, for me is not something I really want to do, in that I love my job, LOVE my coworkers, love my patients. It actually keeps me going....there are things I would love to DUMP, and that is all the continuing ED we have via the hospital, but it is part and part of the package. So for my 2 days a week, I suck it in!
Heading for time with Mom next week. LOVE THAT!

on your retirement and to Sparks. I retired sometime ago and it was so freeing. The 1st few months, nothing got done. There was always tomorrow. I had to start a to do list and maintain it. I, become first on the list. eating better (taking time to chew and enjoy my food) exercise and having fun! I am now 60 pounds lighter, off of my diabetic meds and only 20mg of HBP meds. It works, but we have to do the work!!!
Lord, bless my diet buddies and help me met my 2015 weight goals of 50 pounds. Leader "Gluten Free"

Hi, I just retired on April 1. I had been having major problems with my blood pressure, and it started improving after I retired. I had more time for exercise, and cut down the salt and fast food. Better nutrition really seemed to be helping. I was feeling great until I slipped yesterday and had a big binge. I need to stop this now, I hope by posting this that I will get back on track. My life depends on this.
