I'm so for your loss, but just remember what you did for him, allowing him to die with dignity! That's a loving and caring thing to do, but you showed your love and compassion, by honoring him!

At this time you have to think POSITIVE. Because if you don't take care of yourself you could run into alot of health issue yourself. Sure the one that have gone on wouldn't like if you just let yourself go. Get it and let's LIVE AGAIN.
Having been through this twice, one was my mother, believe me I know the havoc that it brings in its wake. Don't try to diet, just make the best choices you can at this time. Practice portion control when you can and forgive yourself when you can't. Emotional eating is tricky and can knock you on your butt and because of it you are thinking negative things about yourself that are not true.
You helped someone die with dignity, you did a wonderful thing. The eating? It will even itself out. You know what you need to do and you will...when the time is right for YOU.
BTW, would you call a friend fat who gained weight while dealing with a difficult situation? No you would not. Be as kind to yourself as you are to your friends.
My thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I am a grandmother, mother, wife, xspecial ed teacher, great cook, and very caring. I am not able to control my eating some of the time, at other times it is easy to focus on low calorie eating and feel confident about it. I lost 50 pounds a few years ago and have been able to keep my weight even. Last month I lost a cousin who was very dear to me. It has left me drained, and I am eating too much. I have gained 10 pounds after helping him die with dignity and helping deal with his estate.
