My hat is also off to you, as I haven't started running, yet! I'm trying to work my way up to it. I do a slow jog. In fact, my power walk is faster than my slow jog, so I do more power walking. I'm doing my very first 5K on 03 May 14, God willing! I'm confident it will be the first of many and I'm looking forward to it!
Just keep doing what you're doing, and you can only IMPROVE!!!

I have been running over 30 years, never was fast, 9-10 minute miles and not races. I started doing longer distances in 2008 and have now run 20 half marathons and one marathon. I am just so darn slow, that now I am beginning to get discouraged. I know that I shouldn't let it bother me, but it does. I belong to a forum for women over 40, but everyone is getting PR's and running fast and here I am lucky to be doing 12 minute miles these days. I seem to have really slowed over the winter more than usual and feel like a slug! Also put on a few pounds, not bad, but enough to make me feel yuck! Help, I guess I just need motivation. Would help if it would stop snowing and temp would go over 30 degrees! I live in northern Ohio....
