In reply to DJATSW47, I do understand! That's me too! Long work days, super tired and so easy to drive through a fast food place and eat on the way home. It feels like a way of distressing and winding down too since it takes me about 25 mins to drive home. Hooray for you still working but I know it's hard on your health too. I'm trying to take foods with me to work and something to eat either while I have a short break (some days I don't) for a lite supper or healthy munchie in the car. It's a hard habit to break though. losing the weight and eating more healthy foods will help with BP and other illness. I am now off of all diabetic meds and take only 20mg of BP. It's wonderful not to carry around those extra pounds. I have a goal of 60 pounds for 2014, hopefully that will help those aching knees and joints.

I am turning 59 two weeks from yesterday. I was on two blood pressure meds but on this past Halloween morning I had a stroke with a brain bleed. Now I'm on 3 meds. Two in the morning, a different one completely about 1 pm and then one of the morning meds again at bedtime. I just joined yesterday. I'm fighting my way back from the stroke and figured I need to find some teams more revelant to now then where I was in early October. Like running groups since I am just getting somewhat better at walking and still look like I'm drunk sometimes LOL. I still have to do my intro and wanted to welcome you to the group. You can do this!!

I am turning 67yo in just 3 days and have been on Maxzide for my blood pressure for the past 8 or 10 years. It usually keeps it fairly well controlled, but my weight is way too much and I am sure my blood pressure would be much better if I could lose at least 50lb. I still work fulltime and that means 10 to 13 hours a day. My weight loss efforts are thwarted by exhaustion from long days and fast food meals due to same (get home way late at night).

I'm Debbie, have been on a bp med since I was in my 30's. Now I'm sixty, on 2 meds, morning and night. Stress really has affected me with my bp and now my weight probably isn't helping at all. Just joined up with Spark people and trying to find my way around. Started off good with my eating, slacked off last week, trying to get more involved and more serious with this. As far as my bp meds, sometimes I do forget until late in the morning on a non-work day! Crazy, I know and I'm a nurse! Good to see all the different teams!
