I swear I go to these sites just to read Nancy Jean's welcomes. They make me feel warm and fuzzy all over. I welcome you as well Drea but not half as well as Nancy Jean.

Let me officially you to one of my many homes, here is SparkPeople Land! This is a really great site that has so much to offer, free of charge! When I first joined SP, I was so overwhelmed with the site, that I started to get discouraged, because I wasn't able to do what I thought I should be doing right off the bat! Well, I took a step backwards and looked the situation and realized that I don't have to learn everything TODAY, as this lifestyle change is for the rest of my life! I'm taking baby steps and learning as I go, and I'll forever be learning something or another, which gives me reason to smile. If I haven't learned one new thing, before the day is out, I consider it a wasted day.
I suggest you start with your trackers first. On your nutrition tracker, write down everything that went into your mouth. The little taste tests that you take, when preparing food, count too, along with the little love bites of food that a child gives you, also. I was so mortified when I realized all the JUNK I was shoving down my throat, when I started on SP. Tracking your food will enable you to have a clear picture of what you're really doing to your body! Likewise with the exercises, even walking, or marching, as some people call it, for 10 minutes or more constitutes a workout and gives you steps to boot. You may want to hit up the exercise videos, here on SP. They last anywhere from 6 minutes and up. I remember when I did my first video, I chose a 9 minute video, and I couldn't even make it half way through it, and it made me feel bad, because I was sitting in a chair! SP has taught me that I don't need to feel bad, they taught me that "I AM WORTH IT!"

Hi SP! My name is Drea and I am a 33 year old single full time mom, student and nurse!! I live in Jacksonville, FL and I have at least 150 pounds to lose so I am here for the LONG haul... :) Anyway, I am not committing to a diet, but a lifestyle change. I have been on numerous diets and I need something that I can live with at this point. I am looking for SP friends so that we can motivate each other... Feel free to stop by my Spark page and leave a message!!
