Hi Steve, Welcome to the team. Be true to yourself. Only you can make a change in your life. I have high cholesterol, very high blood pressure, on all kinds of meds also. I'll be 70 in Feb. I have had to change my way of living. Good luck to both of us.

Get ready my friend!!! You didn't end up here by mistake!!! This is the place to be to get yourself back to a healthy life!!! IT will take dedication and stick-to-it-tive-ness, but this is do able. This isn't a DIEt, but a lifestyle change. This is something you'll be doing for the rest of your life, but you already stated the obvious. This is a serious thing Steve, we want you around for your family, and we want you around to help us out, as much as we want to help you out!!!
I suggest you do exactly what Nora said, "TRACK IT!" TRACK everything that goes into your mouth. Every little morsel, which also means those little taste tests that you sneak every now and again. Don't forget to TRACK your beverages, and be mindful of the hidden caffeine and sugar in those puppies!! Steve, and we're all behind you 100% and with that it becomes a as we're all a team and we're all in this together!!! If you need help, just HOLLER and somebody will be here to give you a hand up!!!

STEVE ~Hello if you use Spark trackers, nutrition and exercise.
If you are ready for a healthy lifestyle this was what I did in my moment of desperation.
I was diagnosed with Diabetes, High blood Pressure and Cholesterol.
I had no access to a computer so looked in the book store. I found the Spark book and wanted to join. Our son gave me his old desk top. I started to Spark
I have lost 50 pounds, I am off medication for blood pressure, high Cholesterol and diabetes. All controlled with good food and exercise.
The right foods in moderation and as much walking or exercise you can fit in your day.
I walk a lot, I measure the food I eat and I TRACK IT.
It was not easy but I was determined, small steps, never gave up and had great support here.

Lose it while you are younger, I wish I had found Spark SOONER.

Hi, I'm Steve. I'm overweight, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, on all kinds of meds & I love food & drink. I don't want to leave my wife a widow. I don't seem to have the willpower to loose weight on my own. If I don't change something with consumption, I won't live to see 70, in 10 years. I want to live & be healthy but I'm holding myself back. I've never joined anything like this & am not sure what's right or wrong on these boards but I need help please.
