to one of my many homes here in Sparkpeople Land!!! This is indeed the place to be, if you want and need support. Everybody here, and I really do mean EVERYBODY HERE, is and are willing to support you! We can be your cheerleader your calming force a workout buddy and of course we can also just be a friend This is an place, but there's just one catch. You have to want it badly enough, that you're willing to put it all out there! There may be days that you're elated, crying, discouraged, and just plain in a funk! Everybody goes through these feelings, but it's how you learn to handle them, that counts.
I've been here at SP since mid June, and I wish I had know about this place sooner! It was my Curves trainer that told me about this place, and I was over the moon when I came on board. It was overwhelming, at first, but once I was here, it got easier. There are still things that I don't understand how to do, but it's all a learning process. This place is a treasure trove of knowledge and you know learn all kinds of things. Just jump in and give it a try!!!
The first thing I would suggest you do is TRACK EVERYTHING that goes in your mouth. Every meal, every morsel of food, to include the ones you sneak to taste test. Now don't forget your beverages, but be mindful of the hidden caffeine and sugar in the drinks. Then that will give you a TRUE picture of what you're consuming and how to tailor it to your lifestyle change. When I started tracking, I was appalled at what I was stuffing in my face and letting go down my throat. It's no wonder that I was 388 lbs. When I look at my picture, it shocks me into reality and not wanting to go back there, again. If you need any help, just HOLLER and somebody will be right here, or where ever you are to give you a hand up! Take care on this new season in your life.

Hello if you use Spark trackers, nutrition and exercise. If you are ready for a healthy lifestyle this was what I did in my moment of desperation. I was diagnosed with Diabetes, High blood Pressure and Cholesterol. I had no access to a computer so looked in the book store. I found the Spark book and wanted to join. Our son gave me his old desk top. I started to Spark I have lost 50 pounds, I am off medication for blood pressure, high Cholesterol and diabetes. All controlled with good food and exercise. The right foods in moderation and as much walking or exercise you can fit in your day. I walk a lot, I measure the food I eat and I TRACK IT. It was not easy but I was determined, small steps, never gave up and had great support here. By the way I am 70 years young. Pat in Maine. Lose it while you are younger, I wish I had found Spark SOONER.

I looked at the Sparks page once before and signed up and never came back to it but feel that I am hitting rock bottom when it comes to weight issues and health issues. No one can change this but me but my motivation usually only lasts a day or two and I get bogged down in life again. Hoping to reach out to others to keep me focused and true to myself and meet some great people along the way.
