HI to all!
I am currently writing from Columbus, OH. I am a Texas girl who has traveled and lived in virtually all parts of this beautiful country. I am now retired from being a critical care RN with the incredible stress that goes with that. Stress has been one of my biggest triggers for eating excessively. Now I am more able to eat slowly and think about what I am eating, how much, and enjoying every bite.
I am all too aware of the effects of obesity on my health. I have fought this battle all my life. The hardest part at this point in life is to exercise. If others have had the exercise challenge, what did you do to get past that challenge?
There are some amazing stories from people on this website which are inspiring and promote good ideas and motivation to be healthier.
Good Health to you all. Have a wonderful day!
getting better and better
Welcome to the High Blood Pressure team! It can be very frustrating to try and fail to lose weight -- but Spark People has all the tools, information and support to help you! Remember this is a lifestyle change, not a "diet." Take one day at a time, use the nutrition and fitness trackers, make small changes, and don't expect to be perfect. You can do this! I'm looking forward to "seeing" you here on the message board, and please feel free to send a SparkMail to me or another team leader should you need any help with using the site or just a word of encouragement!

Greetings to all. I am 57, nearly 58 (shockingly). I have used food all my life foe emotional reasons and dieted as a result since I was 11. I now have an awful lot of weight to lose with many acquired health problems. I almost feel defeated before I start. But my health is deteriorating so I have to force myself to do The Last Big Push before it is too late and for my future health. Therefore I need all the help I can get!!!! If I could just get this lardy bum off the sofa.....
