I'm so delighted that you came and are WILLING to do a lifestyle change to better God's temple. on the weight that you've already lost, it's AMAZING!!!
One of the first things I suggest you do is to track, track, and track, AGAIN!!! Track EVERYTHING you put in your mouth and EVERY EXERISE that you do, as this will give you a true picture of where you are. When I first started tracking 14 months ago, I had no idea what I was putting in my mouth and shoving down my throat. It was really an eye opener for me and I was agast!!! I knew I needed to do something and do it NOW!!!
SparkPeople came to me about 3 months ago, through Curves. I used another site to track all my food and such. I wasn't expecting much, when I started, but GOD SHOWED UP AND SHOWED OUT, for me!!! To date, I've lost a total of 176 lbs. Yes, when I started I was a real PORKER and I didn't even realize it, but everybody else did. Since everybody else knew, and I didn't I became a recluse, for many years.
When I finally got started in my lifestyle change, which was about 14 months ago, I told my doctors the weight I wanted to get to, and they were all saying, "You can't weigh that much, as that's not enough for you." I did explain that when I was in the service, I did weigh that, and then they asked me how long ago it had been. They told me that I couldn't go back and pull something like that out of the past, as your body is always changing and it's not the same as it was, so long ago. It was then and there, that the only weight loss goal I had was to lose l lb. a week. That's what I programed in the computer and everything. Well, as you can see, it's a heck of a lot more than 1 lb. a week. That's how God showed up and showed out for me!!!
Take advantage of all the articles you can read, as it's a treasure trove of FANTASTIC and EDUCATIONAL information!!! I've learned so much, being here. I also would love to see you take advantage of the exercise videos. Most of them are about 10 minutes long, as that's part of the philosophy that SparkPeople has. There take on it is "Who can't carve out 10 minutes a day for exercise." You'll see in no time that you'll be doing the same one several times a day, or adding other in the mix, too. It's so much fun!!!

my name is mindy and im 34yrs old. I am happy married for 16yrs now. I am a mom of 2 special needs girls ages 18 and 12. my family is my life and my strength along with God. I am looking forward to getting my weight off so i can live a long happier life style and enjoy all the things that Im too tired for lol. I have a couple of weight loss goal but my first is to be the weight I was when I got married. 235lb at my heaviest i weighed 376lbs and currently im 291lbs.
