Welcome and congrats on your weight loss. Way-To-Go! On the drop down menu for the "Articles & Videos" tab above you'll find SparkRecipes.com. Look around. Under the "MyRecipes" tab you have a recipe builder, you can share your recipes with the rest of us or keep them to yourself, you can have as many cookbooks to store both the recipes you put in and the recipes from the site that you want to save in. It can seem a little hard getting back to the SparkPeople pages from there but just open the "community" tab and click on "SparkTeams," you'll be back. Keep up the good work!

Welcome Russel from the Red Stick! Well, no one promised you life would be easy and they were so very correct. On the other hand there is nothing as good as feeling well and looking good. This site is so very thorough in that it has lots of info, support and suggestions along with motivations and people who are going on the same journey you are needing to take. Good luck and stick with it!

Greetings and salutations from the Red Stick, better known as Baton Rouge, La.
My name is Russel and I'm a SparkPeople retread. I joined a LONG time ago and never really followed up. I stayed tracking for about a month and then wandered off.
Then, in 2011, at 44 my doctor was brutally honest with me when I weighed 307 pounds, so I joined Weight Watchers and lost over 100 pounds. I lost motivation when they cancelled my meeting and never got back into the program so I cancelled my membership last week.
I joined SparkPeople again last week and started tracking today. I lost the weight with Weight Watchers, so I can lose the weight here. I'll need cheerleaders and people to hold me accountable.
My wife and I are both outdoors people. We're just not very active outdoors. We like geocaching and camping. I like hiking and hope to get back into running.
Finally, I'm hoping to have my blood pressure back under control soon. It was under control last November. I was doing so well, my cardiologist should have taken me off of one of the medications.
