Welcome from another reader. Don't know if you've tried this, but I get audio books from the library (either on CD or downloaded to my laptop) and listen while I exercise. It give me a little extra incentive, and helps the time pass. Glad you've decided to join us.

i lost 44 pounds by giving up grain and sugar products at age 61.

my sister lost 105 pounds at age 63 by walking 15000 steps a day.

emoticon ROBBY! You hit the right place, believe me! Being an avid reader I'll advise you to study the ARTICLES AND VIDEOS section of the site. You'll find a real wealth of useful information there. BUT beware it's kind of overwhelming as well so try to limit yourself to reading only that part which directly concerns your own outstanding problems. When being well informed it will be much easier to draw a plan set your goals and only then get acquainted with the tools - the trackers - which will help you in reaching your goals. And please understand from the very beginning that the Spark is not just about losing weight or solving any separate health problems BUT is devised to help us learn how to and start a healthy life! emoticon glad you are joining us on this journey to a healthy lifestyle. this is a journey that will last a lifetime. We must learn to live, eat and move so we don't have to lose the same pounds over and over again. Join the chair exercise group. There are some great ideas for those of us with limited mobility. I also can enjoy exercises in my pool. That helps a lot, it's summer, so we can enjoy the many fruits and vegs, do what you love. I also love to read and have a book club meeting at my home once each month. That may be a great idea for you. It allows us to get to know new authors and books. Just finished "One mans moccasins " by Craig Johnson. there is also a TV series on A&E now about his books. Hope this gives you some ideas for your journey.

Lord, bless my diet buddies and help me met my 2014 weight goals of 60 pounds.

I joined Spark People to help me to lose the 150 pounds i need to lose. I also wanted the community it offers. I thought it would help to be able to interact with others that are on the same journey I'm on to reach goal weight. I am an avid reader. I am limited in what I can do now because of health problems due to my weight. I am happy to be a part of spark people.
