my sister walks 15000 steps a day and lost 105 pounds at age 63.

since she fell outside and broke her jaw she now walks at night in her house.

Hi, I was truly hoping to get on track with looking after myself, but I don't think I can on this site. You see my anti virus will not let me open e-mails and also other things. The reasons are bizzarre, so I will unsubscribe and maybe try again. I was diagnosed on Monday with osteoarthritis in the right hip, and I do need to lose weight badly. WELCOME. emoticon Eating healthy foods is very important. If you use your tracker it will help you to learn about some new foods for you and your DH can eat.

That will help you to learn how to lower you blood pressure. Your DR will be able to help you too. Spark recipes have been helpful for me and my DH I am 70 ears young.

Hi Chook. Patience is VERY important if we want to realize our goals. And also - try to change your seating posture with some walking around the house every 30-40 minutes. Wish you good luck.

emoticon !! While you are sitting down they have chair eexercise for you to do. Just go through the exercises and you will find alot of things you can do while at home with your husband. If you enter all your food in the nutrition tracker and then press daily feedback your next screen will tell you more than you ever wanted to know. Also as you enter your food the total calories will be printed at the bottom of the page. You will get it eventually. There is still a lot I need to learn about this wonderful site. I just tried out the recipe brown rice and broccoli and it was a hit with my dinner party last night. It can be created with other grains as well and I will try it in the future. I am relearning sewing as I got far too busy for about 20 yrs. and now have a bit more time. My husband has a disease similar to Parkinsons and it is frustrating for him but we keep trying to keep him going.

Thank you all for your welcome, the videos for understanding how to get around the site are good, but I am slow at learning so I guess patience will what it is all about at the moment. I am not sure how to work out the calorie count, so this will be a challenge too. I am a carer for my husband, he has Parkinson's, so I am limited in going out . I love to sew and sometimes sit for long periods of time. So I would love to lose the weight as well as learn to cook healthy. Chook21
