losing weight helps a lot with getting off or lowering the amount of meds we have to take. I am off diabetic meds and have reduced my BP meds a lot. My knees feel better and my dress size has gone from a 3X to a 1X. Glad you are joining us on the journey to a healthy lifestyle!
Lord, bless my diet buddies and help me met my 2014 weight goals of 60 pounds. Co-Leader "Keep it Simple"
Janette, welcome! I am on BP meds too. Before I lost weight my BP was in the 145/85 range. I have been exercising since March and within two weeks it dropped to 135/75. I've continued to exercise and eat right and now have a consistent BP in the 110/60 range. You can do this if you want it bad enough to work for it.

In GOD We Trust Choose To Lose "If you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired." -General George S Patton, U.S.Army, 1912 Olympian
Hi, I am Janette and I am new to SparkPeople and the group. I have been on and off blood pressure medicine for several years now. I just got put back on it a couple of years ago, but I am hoping with weight loss and diet change that I can get off of it again.
