You might consider how you're taking your blood pressure. It can affect it a lot. You should be sitting still for a few minutes before taking your blood pressure and not taking it for at least half an hour after eating or drinking anything. The arm you're taking it in should be at heart level. Sit up straight with your feet flat on the floor if at all possible. Never cross your legs while taking your blood pressure, even at the ankles. And, yes, always try to take it at the same time every day. My doctor has me take my blood pressure twice, one immediately after the other, in the morning and again in the evening, then average the four readings. I've read that this method is more accurate than just taking it once. If it continues to be erratic, definitely tell your doctor.

Good Question. As you know, BP can vary due to stress, exercise, and lots of other reasons. Are you taking your meds at the same time (within an hour) each day? That's important. Try not to take your BP too often, the fluctuations will give you crazy readings and add to your anxiety . Have you tried taking your BP at the same time every day - 30 minutes after you take your meds in the morning and then every evening at _____(you pick the time). chart the results and make a note as to what you were doing or feeling. This will show you if there is a pattern. Then, if it is still all over the place,, take this chart to your doctor.

I have the top number between 140-160 but the bottom is pretty stable at 70. I have been told to lose 25 lbs. and am working on it.

been sparking 1 month today ! I take BP meds ... lately my pressure is everywhere even at rest any where from 115/63 to 160/100 ... can feel this coming on.. Especially after I eat or if I am stressed out. anyone else having this issue ? I have been staying under my sodium guidelines. hmmm
