Relax and check after you are healthier. If it is still high consider blood pressure medicine. The only natural cure I have had was finding out why I had white coat syndrome. Then I explained it to my doctor and my blood pressure has been lower when I go to the doctor.
Hi - visited the doctor three days ago with a chest infection and he took my blood pressure and it was 180 / 120. It shocked me and I want to do something naturally to reduce it and avoid taking medication. I am 56, 172 lbs and active. I know I could loose more weight but I have been a thrice-weekly gym goer for 2 years and swim six days out of 7 and do aqua aerobics on two days. All I undertake at a pretty intense level and have an athletic shape with the weight stuck around the dreaded tummy. I eat home cooked food mostly, probably a bit heavy on cream and butter, but I love cooking. Since Monday's shock have bought a home blood pressure monitor and it is showing readings 152/94 yesterday to 144/83 and 125/82 today. Did I have a serious white coat event on Monday or is there something more going on? I will take medication if necessary but I want to see how I can control things naturally. Have really cut down on salt since Monday evening, started to eat oatmeal (ugh) and cut out butter / cream. I am back with the doctor next week and want to show things are improved. Thank you in advance.
