Welcome to the High Blood Pressure team! Very good advice below from RENEWNAN -- make small changes and take one day at a time, don't expect to be perfect, and if you slip up just get back on track as soon as you can (don't try to make up for it by starving the next day after gorging yourself, for example). There is a lot to explore on the Spark People site -- there are some tips for using the site in our "Need Some Help?" forum, and if you have any questions please don't be afraid to ask -- we are here for you! (You can ask questions here on the discussion boards, or send me a Spark Mail.)

Best wishes,
Sandy

In GOD We Trust Choose To Lose
"If you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Welcome

Fighting your weight or your sweet tooth or your portion size.?
100 lbs seems like a mountain to climb break it into more manageable blocks. 2 lbs a week would be 10 lbs a month or 25 lbs by Easter. Because then you can see a milestone reached and feel an achievement. I am on a 12 lbs by my next doctor's appointment and |I am getting there. I want to see whether my weight does affect my BP.
It is not easy but we can do it. We took a lifetime to gain all our weight we will take a while to lose it but we CAN do it

Nan from Fife in Scotland.
BLC21 start weight 146 lb
BLC21 goal weight 134 lb

I must lose some rear so I can continue to get out of the car once I park it in the garage
