Lucy, please believe me, many of us know EXACTLY what you mean! Take one day at a time, don't try to change everything at once, and use the tools and support on this site -- you CAN do it. It can be hard to accept that the changes won't happen as fast as you'd like, but once you start interacting with the community here you'll find that the journey is as much a reward than the end goal. Welcome to the team! Use all the tools that are on SP. Especially the nutrition tracker. Track EVERYTHING, even that piece of gum and breath mint. I know it sounds like overkill but those have calories too. As you get more energy, try walking a little every. Then add a little more distance as you feel you can. Walking is all I do for exercise because of health concerns and I started by walking to my mailbox, it is the equivalent of 1 1/2 blocks from my front door one way.

emoticon I know exactly how you feel ...I have had one issue after another ...the one thing that I do is never quit. Perseverance even on your worst day, log in, read some articles, subscribe to issues that interest you. I do not know if I will ever get to any kind of goal, but I enjoy the road there! emoticon emoticon

Hi, My name is Lucy. I turned 50 this year. I am a single mother of 3 wonderful girls and have 2 grandbabies who I adore. I have been overweight, no . .obese my children's entire life. Before that, I was thin. I don't know what triggered my eating spree and weight gain, but after 27 years, I think it's time to stop!! My body aches all day... I can't shop with my family...I sit and wait for them and make excuses. I'm tired of making excuses and not being part of their lives. I want to LIVE my life...not watch from the sidelines anymore. NO MORE EXCUSES!!!! Please, if you have any words of inspiration for me.... I could use them!!! I look forward to meeting you all and hopefully making a huge change in my life! Lucy
