Hi CICI, welcome to the team. Regular exercise and healthy eating will definitely help in lowering your BP. Walking regularly and consistently has helped me a lot. Do take your medications regularly.

Hi cici and welcome. My BP was really high also. It is getting under control with meds, walking for exercise and eating healthier - mostly vegetarian. I cut out fatty and salted or smoked meats over a year ago and switched from butter to Earth Balance Buttery Spread. It tastes almost as good as butter but it is healthier than butter or margarine. I also cut my egg and dairy to a bare minimum. These things have helped with my cholesterol levels also.

I take my meds in the morning and keep track of my BP every day. My doctor suggested checking my BP at different times of the day to get a good average. I log it on a spread sheet on my computer. I have a "Life Source" digital BP monitor that is easy to use. Your health insurance should cover most if not all of the cost. If not they are fairly inexpensive, my model is under $50.00.

Take the medication every day. Reduce the salt. Exercise and lose some weight. Hard but doable
