Being ready to make changes is definitely the first step! Don't try to make too many changes at one time, tho, or you can become overwhelmed and frustrated. I've only been here a week myself, it doesn't take long to get used to the site and the features here, very user friendly... be sure to check out all the good info under the "healthy lifestyle" tab up above, track your foods daily, and come to the message boards for interaction with other members.

Well, I was never physically active or athletic, so it has been a challenge for me to make working out a part of my life. Walking is my main exercise and it has paid off. The regular exercise and some weight loss has really helped get my blood work to healthy levels. too!

I'm new to sparkpeople, I'm learning how to use the available online tools and would appreciate any advice. What has helped you and why did it work? My issues with wieght have been a life long struggle. I'm so ready for change. My recent mantra is: If you want something you've never had, do something you've never done. With that in mind, I'm ending my self defeating behavoir and creating a positive vibe for my life.
