my sister walks 15,000 steps a day at 63 years old and has lost 105 pounds.

i gave up grain and sugary products and have lost 44 pounds at age 60.

we are both still loosing weight until we reach our goal

I have to keep reminding myself that I did not put it on overnight and it is not coming off overnight! It is hard - but at least at work - I work for a hospice (medical records) and most of the ladies there are working on their weight too. So if we eat out or send out - usually it is salads or at least lean - yesterday I went to a BBQ place and just got a plain chicken breast chopped up - that's all - it had been grilled and was pretty good.

It will just take time - my granddaughter keeps reminding me not eat certain things - she eats pretty healthy all by herself - she loves fresh fruit and that is all she wants for lunch at school and cheese.

I wish you luck with your health concern, it is so hard, but you need to take one day at a time, maybe one hour at a time. I didn't go to WW for two weeks, I have had my grandson for several days and all my bad eating habits surfaced. I was doing okay, tacking my food, but then when he is here, I don't have time to make dinners etc, so am grabbing whatever is around. I have to stop it. I have the same amount of weight to lose as you do. I don't know how all this weight happened, it seemed that one day I woke up and there it was!

Hi Jillieane, I understand the struggle - I am trying to do it on my own - I have used Weight Watchers before - but don't have time for weekly meetings etc. I have lost this weight before by doing all of the lows - but when my dad was in his last year of life - I gained it all back and then some. I have blockage in my carotid arteries so am trying to reduce that and my weight etc. I really don't want to have the surgery to clean out the arteries!

I did not loose any weight this week - but at least I did not gain!

Welcome....I am the same age as you and have two grandsons, 14 mos. and almost 6 yrs old... we are not raising them, but I want to be around too, to see them grow up. My husband is 68. I am currently going to Weight Watchers and am struggling so with that, lose a pound, gain it back, and so it continues.
I can't seem to get a grip on this weight. Good luck to you!

I just signed up today - so very new to this site - hope it will help keep me on track with my goals. I have an 8 year old granddaughter that I want to see grow up. My husband and I are raising her - she is our life! I am 63 my husband is 72 and I need to change my eating and lifestyle. So any help - news - encouragement etc would be greatly appreciated.
