I'm doing the Couch to 5K plan to get me started on the right path. We do 1 mile 2 x a week, then 1 1/2 miles on Saturdays...each week this increases until we're running more & more & up to 3 miles. I drink pretty much nothing but water except for my 2 cups of coffee in the mornings. And I'm trying to incorporate more fruits into my diet & eat a little more healthier, but I'm not going to try to change too much all at once or I know I'll give up. Hoping as I go along my eating habits will continue to improve. Hoping I can become healthier and lose weight & in time come off my meds.

my sister walks 15,000 steps a day at 63 years old and has lost 105 pounds.
i gave up grain and sugary products and have lost 44 pounds at age 60.
we are both still loosing weight until we reach our goal

Consistent exercise along with the weight loss is what helped get my blood sugar and cholesterol under control.

I have been here about a week. I have high blood pressure & high cholesterol. I start the Couch to 5K program this Tuesday. Hoping to lose some weight and become healthier out of this. I am so tired of taking medication. I hope to eventually be able to come off medications. I am 47 and 40 pounds overweight and pretty much a couch potato right now. Hoping I become a runner out of this and start living a healthier life so I can look and feel better.
