Thank you Nadine! I am trying to eat as little sodium as possible. The good thing is I have never been big on adding salt when I cooked or am eating so I didn't have to overcome that challenge. Thank you again for your motivating words...I appreciate them so much~Miche

emoticon Tracking your sodium (salt) intake can help with the water retention by showing you how much you are consuming. Be sure not to restrict your water intake. It is so important to weight loss and general good health. You have made great progress by losing 40 pounds! Don't give uip! emoticon emoticon

my sister walks 15,000 steps a day at 63 years old and has lost 100 pounds.

i gave up grain and sugary products and have lost 44 pounds at age 60.

we are both still loosing weight until we reach our goal

Hi and welcome.
we all have these down times now and then. Exercise helps boost you are a good laugh. If you have to dig out a copy of the really old tune your grandma used to listen to "the laughing policeman" or have a baby's gurgly giggle ring tone on your mobile then go for it.
Writing on here helps too. I generally find that just writing it down helps and then you get replies that let you know others are either the same or worse than you and it puts things in order.

Hi everyone, I am new to Sparkpeople and would love to chat with you about fitness and nutrition. I have lost about 40 pounds so far and would like to lose 110 more. I was diagnosed with HBP in April and have been trying to lose weight and I also take a water pill to control it. I am hoping to lose enough weight that I can avoid taking a stronger BP medicine. I have been feeling very unsure of myself the last week and can feel my motivation slipping and I am afraid I will begin to gain weight again if I don't get these feelings under control. I would like to motivate and be motivated by others to a healthier lifestyle. I am here if you need me with a kind word and gesture to help you over a rough patch or pat on the back for a job well done. Looking forward to meeting you~Miche
